I have always entered my workouts into the app after the fact. The app would log the workout and give the heart rate data breakdown. On February 25, following the new update, it stopped giving this data! I'm very disappointed. Please bring back the heart rate data. This is how I use my watch. Its hard to remember to put it in exercise mode before working out. I take a lot of classes, and that's an extra step.
Amen. Unacceptable that they changed the ability to automatically recognize workouts & the option to manually load workouts. Pathetic that customer support doesn’t know this when you’re in email hell. Trackers that don’t track are now worthless & not worth cost. It’s fraudulent advertising & horrendous treatment of loyal customers.

Hey @dmk320 and @Manually welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! Thank you for reporting the issues that you're having with your workouts.
I was trying to recreate the same scenario that you're mentioning and after a couple of minutes I was able to see my manually logged activity with heart rate. I used both an Android and iPhone device, this feature should be working properly. Please make sure that the Fitbit app is up to date and that your Fitbit Versa is tracking heart rate during that period of time. You can also force quite the Fitbit app and check if you can see your previous activities.
@Manually If your Fitbit is not automatically recognizing your activities, please try to restart it and give it a try again. You will find more information about SmartTrack here: Which activities does my Fitbit device track automatically?
I'll be around, please keep me posted.

Best Answer@dmk320 Your Versa is a very sophisticated device, with 20 exercise shortcuts in the Exercise app. I also do many types of workouts and always use the Exercise app. Why do you log manually after the fact?

Best AnswerI often forget to start the workout in the app. I enjoyed the convenience of being able to log it later, or for the app to automatically log it for me. I also have a tendency to forget to stop an exercise in the app. And then it goes on for too long. And I can only edit if I know the start time and/or I wasn’t stopping and the starting a new workout.
Yes, this is happening with my Altra HR. Really pissed. I have bought the subscription. This is unacceptable. I always had to log my spin classes and the app would show everything, now NOT! My Fitbit doesn’t have many auto recognized exercises. Now will not show weight workouts, bike classes. I give it one more week, if not corrected I’m canceling my subscription. Really disappointed with Fitbit, will not buy another product.
Totally unacceptable that they switched services without telling consumers. Even they’re help didn’t know & gave crazy useless steps which didn’t fix problem. It no longer auto recognize a walk or other types of workouts. It is a downgrade in service. Terrible customer service. It makes the products worthless to avid exercisers.
just received an email from customer service. Said they are aware of the problem and are working on it. Whatever that means. Probably just want to smooth it over 😡
I have the same problem. Starting this week, my Versa doesn’t automatically record workout. If I enter them manually it just says that I doesn’t have enough data. I can see the data in my heart rate area but my workout can’t use it. Why is this happening?
i Have been emailing with them for a week. They kept giving me steps to do telling me the problem was with my 3 devices. They did not know the service was removed. Finally someone emailed that they intentionally removed the feature & are not planning to bring it back so I find it hard to believe they are actually working on the problem that they don’t know exists. They told me I could vote to get the feature back which is absurd. It is a downgrade of service with a lack of customer service & the devices are essentially useless & worthless.
I am suffering from this new update on my Alta HR as well. Do we think it would make a difference if another person emailed in for help? Fitbit in general doesn't do squat for cycling classes so I would always add my workout afterwards to capture whatever it thought my heart rate was for that time. Thanks for posting this, at least I'm not alone.
Can someone confirm that Fitbit has actually removed this feature from their products? These are fitness trackers! If they don’t track fitness what is the point of them?
I am an avid spinner & used it by manually entering my data. The data wasn’t fully accurate but it was something. In the last email they sent me they said people could vote & maybe they would bring it back so if they get enough email complaints maybe they’ll bring it back.
Per my last email they are not planning to bring it back unless enough people vote for it. We now have trackers that don’t track which make them worthless.
I just did a chat and the rep said that they were aware of the issue and were working on a fix. Not a feature that was going away.
yes, I enter my spin class by the time I start and how long I spin. The app tells me activity min. And calories but no heart rate. The app tells me 100% fat burn and I absolutely know I’m in cardio zone & peak zone. It used to break it all down. Now I think it is useless.
A big wast of a tracker!
