I have the most current iOS but this has been happening for several weeks now - whenever I join a challenge it only shows myself and the person who invited me to the challenge as participants, even though it says that the other people have joined in the activity field. The only way that I can fix it is by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. It's kind of a pain.

This is indeed a very odd situation and in this case I would like to suggest, instead of reinstalling the app, logout from it, restart your phone and log back in. The app should refresh the information, please check if this issue happens again when you start a new challenge.

Logging out and logging back in worked! I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I did not have to restart my phone. This issue has been happening for at least a month or two, I'm glad you provided me with an easier fix. Hope it gets resolved soon as my elderly parents aren't as adept at troubleshooting!
