Calorie count affected by Timezone change

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi there

I’m a flight attendant so constantly changing timezones and have noticed when I go backwards in a timezone change (e.g.3 hours behind) my calorie count on my Versa 2 deducts calories I’ve already burnt!

Anyone else have the same experience and any ideas on how to fix it?
There won’t be much point me having the fitbit if the data is incorrect!
Thankyou! ☺️

Hi @KikiR. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for sharing your experience with your Versa 2. I totally understand how you feel and let me help you with your inquiry about the calories burned. As you may know, the calories displayed on your watch sum the calories burned when doing your activities plus the BMR, which is the rate at which you burn calories at rest to maintain vital body functions based on your persona information (height, weight, sex, and age).

That said, since you mentioned to have noticed this situation when changing time zone, it seems that your watch is trying to adjust the BMR tracked for the hours that have passed based on the new time zone, reason why you're seeing less total amount of calories burned. You can always verify your personal information to make sure your BMR is being calculated correctly.

I'll be around if you have another question.
