I want to be in a calorie deficit and currently I am set to eating 1000 calories daily and every time I try to set the goal to -750 calories it takes me through the steps but two seconds later it goes back to the 1000 calorie goal. I have tried deleting the app, signing out, force quitting, and I think it is because of the 4.64 (most recent) update. Please help as I do not want to have a goal of eating 1000 calories a day

Same issue here, keeps defaulting back after I make the change to calorie deficit. This is one of my staple requirements for my daily targets.

Ditto! Should be 500 cal deficit but keeps reverting to 1500 cal limit. Have done recent IOS and Fitbit device update so not sure if the issue is in there somewhere? Very annoying!

Having the same problem. My goal is set to -1000 but usually with exercise etc the ‘calories left’ on my food intake increases. Stuck on a figure now and looks like I’m over my calories constantly, app won’t take into consideration my steps etc to increase calorie allowance as normal.

I’m having the same problem. Should be 500 calorie deficit but keeps reverting to 1382 calorie goal. It started yesterday. My phone is iOS version 18.7.1.

Hi everyone, and a warm welcome to the new members.
Thanks for the feedback. We are aware of a bug with changing the calorie target goal from the Today tab and are investigating.
As a workaround, we recommend updating your target calorie goal from the You tab: You -> Goals -> Nutrition -> Calories Target, since this path successfully saves the new value.
Please let us know how it goes.

Doesn’t work - have tried this numerous times, deleted and reinstalled app and restarted Fitbit device it just keeps resetting

I wish this worked but it doesn’t. If I change it this way I then go into the food option to check and it flashes up with how I need it to look for about 1 second before all the bars turn pink again because it’s switched itself back to a calorie goal rather than the deficit.

This doesn't fix the problem. Every time I use "help me set a goal" to set a medium intensity (-500 Cal/day) target it immediately gets erased with a fixed calorie target.

Thank you for trying to help, but as so many others have said, this simply doesn’t work. You can go through the steps to help you set a calorie deficit goal, but then it simply flicks straight back to a set calorie goal.
I think the calorie goal may be whatever was last set in the “set my own goal“ section. I’ve tried fiddling with this and put in a goal of 100 cal, and this is what it defaults to (even though we’re trying to set it to a deficit based goal). Then if I change that to 1200, it changes the default to 1200. For the sake of clarity, this is exactly what I do not want!
I do hope the team are working very hard on getting this fixed as it’s rendering the usability value of the app pretty well useless at the moment.

This is exactly what I experience – you can see the colours flash over if you’re quick.

This doesn't work at all. It resets a few seconds later up to a minute later to a set calorie intake anyway.

This doesn’t fix the issue. I workout and none a ton during the day. If I set a calorie goal I’ll pass out.
The deficit is much more realistic!

Everything same here. The fix suggested did not work. I guess this is one way to make running a caloric deficit even less enjoyable hahaha.

Probably switching to a diff watch and app in the near future! Finally got back on the bandwagon and they do this?
going to lose months of progress! @Fitbit

Mine is doing the same thing. Everything I try, it just reverts back to a static calorie goal.
