Calorie goal keeps resetting

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I want to be in a calorie deficit and currently I am set to eating 1000 calories daily and every time I try to set the goal to -750 calories it takes me through the steps but two seconds later it goes back to the 1000 calorie goal. I have tried deleting the app, signing out, force quitting, and I think it is because of the 4.64 (most recent) update. Please help as I do not want to have a goal of eating 1000 calories a day

This doesnt give an option to set a dynamic calorie deficit.  It is a static value. Appears the code has been updated to pull from this location which is overriding the choice for the dynamic goals which is only available from the user / fitbit settings/ nutrition and weight.
there is also no way to remove the static calorie goal, it can only be edited. Other goals have an option to reset them, calorie and water do not (under food) or in the set my own deficit.

data in the app is also not tracking weight correctly when trying to change the goal. I see it keeps resetting the goal date and inserting today's weight value in multiple places in the history. I tried resetting the goal and the insert values are repeating on the same days.

Yep, exactly.  Shambles.  They should really roll back to the previous version.

I’m so annoyed. I can’t see what my remain calories are just a stupid target goal I didn’t ask for. I have to Manually do the math. Super annoying please fix this. Soon!!! It’s been almost two days of this !!

Hi this does not work as the only option is to set a specific amount of calories and not a dynamic goal of how it used to be where you were able to set a deficit rather than a fixed calorie number. There is no point of setting a fixed calorie amount, please bring back the previous version which allowed a calorie deficit goal

Chiming in to say that I’ve had the same problem for the past couple of days. Hoping that Google will address this soon. It really makes the nutrition tracking function of Fitbit worthless.

Same here! Please fix this Fitbit!!! While you're at it, bring the dynamic number back to the home screen so I don't have to click through to see how many calories I can eat for the rest of the day...

Broke again. I’ve been using -500 cal deficit for years and suddenly it said I have 1,587 static calorie. Tried to reset it but keeps going back to static.

Horrible experience since Google took over. Clearly the developers aren’t doing enough testing before rolling out a new version.

This is the screen that’s not saving the data.

I have the same problem! I can update the static calorie goal, but no matter what I do I can’t switch to dynamic calorie calculation!

i have done this several times and it keeps reverting back to the some arbitrary daily calorie goal that i never chose/set

You’d think this be a relatively easy fix but I guarantee you that Google is doing nothing about it. It’s a simple bug that happened during an update. Just fix it. You shouldn’t have bought the company if you don’t know how to run it.

Over / Under another week to get fix ?

This doesn’t fix the issue at all and this app has basically been useless for nearly a week, how has this not been addressed yet? How can it take this long to fix one of the main reasons people use the Fitbit for?

Even with the update, this still isn’t working. Please fix it to the way it was able to work.

Totally feeling the same way! If you find a better watch, please let us know!

Same and the fact that it’s been like 7 days with no fix is crazy work.

Best Answer

Yup.. you’d think they’d at least address it and put a statement out instead of leaving everyone in limbo.

Same here. Seems the product is quickly deteriorating

Same issue / glad to know it’s not just me but it is extremely frustrating!

Same issue! I’ve had Fitbit for 10 years and I love Fitbit, however I am experiencing many issues with the app lately since Google took over. It is changing to the set calorie amount instead of the calorie deficit AND the weight logs keeps coming back up after being deleted which impacts my averages and overall data.
