HI, I was just wondering what the calories burned on the fitbit app was. Is that my BMR? Should I eat that number of calories back if I was looking to stay at maintenance, or should I eat more than that? I've plugged in my information to see what my maintenance calories are in multiple different apps and websites and they've all told me that I should eat more than the number that the Fitbit says that i've burned. I have a fitbit charge 2 and I track food through my fitness pal.

When you see calories burned on your fitbit or app it is showing the total BMR calories burned since midnight plus any additional calories burned through activity. If you are looking to maintain your weight then you should be aiming for about that number but bear in mind you'll keep on burning BMR calories up to midnight.

You can set up a weight plan in fitbit that'll help calculate your remaining calories or you can do what I do and check myfitnesspal for the remaining calories.
