Fitbit will automatically detect naps of at least one hour, but it takes 3 hours to get sleep stages detected and get a sleep score. For naps that might be less that less that one hour, you can use the floating + sign and "start sleep" then "I'm awake" or some such when you wake up.
These are not settings that you can change.
