Can't add friends if email ends in .com

I notice that it's only emails that end in .com that the app won't allow you to add and a error message pops up

Just to confirm, does this happen just when adding friends via email? Or also when searching from your contacts or by username? Since an error message is prompted, please take a screenshot of it and attach it to your reply.

 

Because your post didn't mention, let's give a try to the following steps:

  1. Log out from the Fitbit app.
  2. Check if the Fitbit app is updated.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
  5. Try adding your friends one more time.
