Can't download Fitbit App for iPhone 4

Help! I have a Fitbit and for some reason I cant download the app on my iPhone. Each time I click "install," the "get" square just pops up again.

Hi @LeahMichele Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I wanted to let you know that since you're experiencing an issue with the iOS Store and therefore, it's better located in the "iOS App" topic. 

 

I noticed that you cannot download the Fitbit App. I would like to inform you that this is a current issue with the App store, but don't worry, since it's being handled and should work soon. I also noticed that you want to download the Fitbit App in you iPhone 4, I'm sorry to say this, but the iPhone 4 is not compatible with the Fitbit App. I recommend you to take a look at the list of compatible devices.

Is this still the case?!  I was given a fitbit charge 3 for my birthday and when i try to download the fitbit app it says my phone needs to be updated to '10' - i have an iphone 4 and my system settings says im on ios 6.3.5 and that there are no new updates as this is up to date already?  Have I just spent £160 of birthday money on a product that won't work with my phone?  I've opened the fitbit up to work out that I need this app, and I'm going to be rather upset that this is the case.  I have an American leaf that works fine with iphone model, why can't you get yours to work with this model?!  I don't want to update my iphone as after this model all the charger cables change and I still have an ipod classic etc.  Hate updating technology when it's not broken.  Really annoyed with your product.

ok ignore this - i have found a solution with my ipad instead

 

UPDATE:

still can;t get the blasted thing to work, looks like I will be taking it back to where I brought it then for a refund!  the fitbit charge 3 watch just doesnt finnish seting up - i'm in this continual loop of waiting for it to finish so I can start wearing it and load up the watch face etc.  It says it hasnt been able to complete the setup and then prompts you to try it again.  You try navigating the dashboard, it asks you to complete setup.  You select a watchface, it says you cant load any until you finish setup......  It's like groundhog day for a watch and me!  Whole day of trying to get it to work.  Really disappointed with the product.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Indeed, in order to set up your Charge 3 on an iOS device, your device needs to be running iOS 10 or later. Now, if you're having trouble setting it up, I would like to suggest you the following troubleshooting steps:

 

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Charge 3.
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Charge 3 one more time.
