Can't find app on IPad

Since the last update I have lost the app on my iPad. When I tried to go into it it only had a black screen so I deleted it and now can't find it in the Apple Store. I am reluctant to update the app on my iPod in case the same thing happens. Is there a problem?

@MotivatedMo  Make sure when you are searching for the app, you change the search criteria to "Iphone". There is not an app specifically for the iPad.
