Can't log exercises in the app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have recently installed Fitbit on my new iPhone (XR), and I noticed I can no longer log exercises that have not been automatically recognised. I tap on "Search" and nothing shows up. On chat, the agent explained to me that this is a Premium feature (which I don't think is the case), so I got Premium... and I am still getting the same error.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @anseh.julia.

Thank you for sharing the details of the issue you’re experiencing. I appreciate your efforts to resolve this and contacting our Support team. It's not a Premium feature and you can confirm the steps to manually log exercises at How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app? I would like to confirm if your Fitbit app is in English? If not, have you tried to change the language of the app to English to see if you continue experiencing this issue? For more information about how to change a language, see How do I change my language on Fitbit?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you for your answer!

Yes, my FitBit is in English now (I changed it, so it's easier to explain the different options), but changing the language did not affect the issue, I am afraid... I still cannot log anything manually 😞

Best regards, J.

This is happening in my app too. I have premium subscription as well. the app isn’t working.  I can’t get details of any of the tiles either.

Thank you for your response, @anseh.julia. Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @MichelleV54.

I appreciate your efforts and the additional details. Please try the following:

  1. Log out of the app.
  2. Force quit the app and check if it is updated to the latest version by following these steps.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Log into the Fitbit app and check if the issue persists.

@anseh.julia If the issue persists, please let me know if you see any options when you write the first letter of the exercise?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hello!

Thank you for your tips!

I have logged out, checked for updates (none available, it is the latest version), restarted the phone and logged back in. Still, when I write the first letter of the exercise (I have tries different letters: P for Pilates, Y for Yoga, A for Aerobic exercise), nothing appears.

I would upload the screenshotI have, but it seems this option is disabled here.

Best,

J

Hi!

I, too, have this issue. I did what you recommended but the issue remains. I cannot find any exercises at all that’s not in the “latest” list.

Celina

Me too.  All software is up-to-date, but the tiles in the Today tab do not open, including excercise.  It was open this morning, but an hour into my walk, it froze.  I have shut down Fitbit, restarted my phone, and nothing helps.

iPhone X, software 14.2

FItBit App, version 3.36

I should add that steps continue to log, I just can't map my walk and get a report on it.

Further update: the main info about the walk was indeed recorded.   I just can't see a map, or see the excercise stats updating (other than steps), or get real-time split reports.

I just got an iPhone 12 Pro Max and cannot see any other exercise options besides run, walk or hike.  I am looking for weightlifting to log as an exercise activity which was available on my previous Android phone.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app but the problem still exists.  Any other suggestions?

Here's the odd thing.  I haven't done anything additional since I posted the question, but when I started my regular walk yesterday, the app was working fine.  I have no idea what the problem had been, or what caused it to go away.

It's nice to see you around, @JimHarsh @Kevvers.

@Kevvers I am glad to hear the app is working fine now. Thank you for posting the update here. I appreciate your efforts and hope you continue enjoying the Fitbit experience.

@JimHarsh Thanks for the details shared in your post. I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts and would like to confirm if you tap "Log Previous" when trying to log the activity? You can check the steps to log the activity at How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app? Please note that it's possible to come across some issues since an iPhone 12 Pro Max is not a supported device for the Fitbit app at this moment. Our engineering team works really hard to keep up with every new phone and mobile device releases, so our customers can enjoy their devices to the fullest.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
