Can’t log into iOS app - NetworkbitKit error

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I recently installed iOS 11 and the Fitbit app was one app that initially had problems and seemed not to work (with the problem as described here), then worked and I don’t know what happened to solve it, now does not work again - same error message as before.

I traveled internationally and had the phone completely shut down and changed WiFi a few times in the intervening week, but nothing else changed. Now I’m home and can’t get it to work.

The app cannot accept a log in and gives the following error message: “Oops something went wrong. Please try again. The operation couldn’t be completed. (NetworkbitKitHTTPError error 1.)”

I have deleted and reinstalled the app, shut down and restarted the phone, but nothing helps. I’m simply unable to do anything with my Fitbit, can’t synch because can’t log in, and can’t use otheir features.

Hello @Bayleaf71, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Which iOS version is your phone running, have you updated to the 11.0.3 version already? Have you updated the Fitbit app as well? If so, please go to your phone settings and turn off WiFi and Bluetooth from here. Don't turn it off from the Control Center as it will only disconnect you from the current WiFi and Bluetooth signals instead of restarting them. When WiFi and Bluetooth are turned off, try to log in. If you're able to, turn WiFi and Bluetooth on. If not, please reply to me with a screenshot of the error message you're receiving so I can check this further.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else Smiley Wink

Thank you. Yes, my iOS is updated ton11.0.3 and I had deleted and reinstalled the newest version of the Fitbit app.

We we figured out by trial and error that turning off WiFi helped make it possible to log in, without the error. But this is not really a great long term solution. The app in fact keeps randomly logging me off and reverts to the problem I described above, and while it’s true that turning off those services is a workaround, I would hope to resolve this so that the app actually works as intended.

For now all pretty much ok and thank you, but I hope a real solution can be pushed out soon.

I am having the same issue. For days now. I've tried everything mentioned on this or every thread in the Community about this issue (going back to 2016 and early 2017). Briefly, yesterday, it was resolved by dumping the app, shutting off my iPhone, restarting, downloading the app again, and logging in successfully. Today, again, I was logged out and now nothing I do will resolve this (including turning off wi-fi and/or bluetooth). Nothing.

The message I get is "The operation couldn't be completed. (NetworkbitKit.HTTPError error 1.)"

Will there be a fix for this any time soon?

Hi GoGo1997,

Sorry to hear you are also experiencing this - although nice to know I’m not alone. For me I was away from home for 2 weeks and the problem didn’t occur, but now that I have returned home it’s back. Strange. For me, the “bandaid” solution of turning wifi off and trying to log in using cell data works, but it’s a poor substitute for an actual solution. Will keep in mind your sequence in case things stop working again.
