Hi!
I use varying apps for tracking my fitness and running progress. I noticed that it is possible to manually add distance after an automatically recognized run (Fitbit Flex 2) via the Dashboard/Activities/Run/three dots in upper right corner. I could also adjust the time if I wanted to. However, when I try to add my walked distance the app will not save it. It actually looks like the app is processing it for a second but just restores to its original data. Is this a bug, or is there a different way to add my distance to my activity?
Thanks is advance 🙂

7/13/2018 Update: Our team is aware that trying to edit distance labeled Runs on iOS using SmartTrack won't save. This does not appear to affect Walks. If you would like to track your distance and have a tracker that supports exercise mode, we recommend using that. Otherwise, we are looking into this but I do not have a timeline for a fix at this time.
@orval, @Isabelle-1993, @Crashburn Welcome to the Community! It's nice to see new faces.
I received another report on not being able to update distance in exercise details and am currently investigating. We recently updated the app. Can you let me know if you are still unable to add the distance in your exercise log?
Look forward to hearing from you!

I have the same issues. I go into the training view, select the exercise eg running. It shows me the field to add distance. I enter it and save. It takes me back to the list of all trainings and doesn't save the distance. The only way to get it in is to delete the automatically recognized training and manually reenter, but then it takes generic step counts versus the actual one.
Is this being looked into?

This is happening for me too. On the "Edit Exercise Details" screen I add the distance and hit Done. It makes no difference, and when you go back in to the edit screen the distance has disappeared.

Glad this is being looked into. I just tried to add it for my run on Tuesday and it still doesn't work unfortunately.

I have the most updated version of the app on iOS. My Fitbit Alta HR is paired with the app, and the edit distance feature still doesn't work, as described above. I edit the distance, and it doesn't save. In fact, no distances are automatically calculated by my Fitbit at all. I have many exercises shown, but the distance graph is completely empty.

Same issue here with my Alta not logging distance run. I try to input the distance manually and it will not save.
I appreciate you looking into this and hope to have an answer soon.

@KateFitbit: We're all still seeing this issue. I found by chance that changing the category to Walk causes the distance to show up, and with it the pace. And when I swipe across to the Distance graph the exercise shows up when set to Walk but not when set to Run. Can you please take this information back to your engineering folks?

Same issue here. Already having issues with Alta HR not recording correct distance when running (records less than half of what I actually run) although it’s seems ok for walking. If this feature worked then at least I could just update to the correct distance. As it is I add an extra run manually to make up the distance loss. Not ideal.

Hi,
i am still having this issue. I do a workout on my indoor bike, I edit the exercise from workout to bike so that I can put the distance in, but it will not save.
Is this being resolved?
thanks!

I’ve found this difficulty today. I can’t add the distance to a run I did yesterday.

I am still having this issue, despite having both updated and uninstalled/reinstalled the Fitbit App. I did a run on the Treadmill today, which I logged as a regular "Workout". When I changed the workout type to Treadmill on the app, it randomly assigned an incorrect distance which I now can't update.
It is completely unacceptable that it's taken you so long to fix such a fundamental issue. I want to be able to track my running distance accurately and this means I am unable to do it.
That combined with other issues (such as FitBit randomly not being able to find my heartrate) means I'll be switching to the Apple Watch or Garmin ASAP. Massively disappointing.

Also having the same problem. Working up until last week now can’t enter distance for spinning or bike - accepts for about a second and then resets
