I am trying to set up a calorie deficit but every time I do it reverts back to a number of calories. I have restarted my Fitbit, deleted and reinstalled app multiple times, offloaded data. I am
clicking on my profile in the app and going to food goal under nutrition and weight, setting a calorie deficit and confirming my choice. It will show goal as calorie deficit but as soon as I leave that screen it reverts back to a daily calorie goal. I also don’t have the ability to set a goal weight, only body fat goal. My phone is running most recent iOS so I think it may be an app problem.

I don’t think Google care anymore about Fitbit. They removed customisation of exercises with no acknowledgement of the complaints. I doubt they care about this food glitch either

Is anyone else checking their phone every morning hoping there’s an update for the Fitbit app that’s waiting to be applied? Each morning I see I have app updates pending and I desperately hope one of them is for the Fitbit app….but alas there is nothing, sadly….

I have my original calorie deficit back (250) but if I wanted to change it to 500, it doesn’t stick. Just reverts back to 250 but at least it’s progress.

Hi everyone and warm welcome to the new members.
Thank you for your patience. Our team found the cause of the issue and are currently fixing it.
Personalized calorie goals should now be showing up correctly. Please note that if you manually set a fixed goal as a temporary workaround, that fixed goal will remain until you change it.
You might still see an error message when creating or updating a food plan, but we expect to have this resolved within the next few days.
I always appreciate all your messages and feedback.

I just tried setting a 500 calorie deficit goal and it reverted to a fixed goal after a few seconds. For me the personalized calorie goal is still not showing up correctly.

Mine is still reverting back from 500 calorie deficit to fixed calorie number within seconds.

I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app and it’s still not holding the deficit goal. As soon as I click ‘Done’ on the settings page it immediately reverts to a fixed calorie goal.

The fitbit dashboard status website still hasn’t acknowledged the issue and shows the mobile app as “green” (no issues)! So frustrating!

It is still not working for me. I’ve tried resetting to the 500 calorie deficit several times but keeps reverting back to the fixed goal. I even tried removing the fixed goal but it does not allow me to do so,

Its working for me again - thank you for the note, Mario.
Something for the group to note - this is being fixed WITHOUT an app update, meaning the issue was within the Database itself or within the instructions being sent to the app. The fact that Fitbit (Google) was able to override the normal dynamic deficient with just a static goal indicates that it was a more central issue.

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, resetting the calorie deficit still isnt working for me.
charge 6, iphone 13, ios 26.3.1
tried to force close the app, re-add a deficit goal (750 and 500). Tried changing the goal start date. Nothing seems to hold the update. It just keeps reverting to the fixed goal. Can see it on the food screen for just a sec before it reverts.

Same here, still doesn’t stick to the deficit it just reverts back!! Mine doesn’t even hold for a second it’s soooooo frustrating 😤
