Cannot set calorie deficit goal

ANSWERED

I am trying to set up a calorie deficit but every time I do it reverts back to a number of calories.  I have restarted my Fitbit, deleted and reinstalled app multiple times, offloaded data.   I am

clicking on my profile in the app and going to food goal under nutrition and weight, setting a calorie deficit and confirming my choice. It will show goal as calorie deficit but as soon as I leave that screen it reverts back to a daily calorie goal.   I also don’t have the ability to set a goal weight, only body fat goal.   My phone is running most recent iOS so I think it may be an app problem.

Was this ever fixed? I just replaced my Luxe with Inspire 3 and deleted the App and my account to start fresh as the App had issues. I originally put a calorie count in before figuring out how to set the calorie deficit and desired weight loss fields. As others have said, the App isn’t showing the daily remaining calories and shows I went over for the day when I really didn’t. How can this be fixed?

We need an update from the tech team as this is still a problem for a lot of people. It has been going far to long  and really needs to  fixed soon.  It’s worrying that, even after buying a new, and up to date Fitbit, this important function is still not working

Tech team please help

It was fixed for me a few weeks ago; however, after applying the new update two days ago, it’s no longer working again…

I had a long chat with support who confirmed the issue is being worked on. That same day, an update came out and I was so excited thinking it would solve the problem. It didn't and a previous problem came back which is, you log a food item and then it disappears...then my 50 calorie light-cheese stick appeared 6 times out of nowhere. The total calories consumed doesn't update on the main screen as you log the food so I'm always closing and reopening the App to get those details to register.  Yesterday I was successful with a calorie deficit but due to this issue it showed me as over for the day b/c of the daily calorie goal being stuck versus allowing the App to set my goal as the day progresses.  I was a fool to think buying a new device and starting from scratch would solve anything. As I always try to look at the bright side, the battery on the Inspire 3 charges very quickly.  It's hard enough losing weight but when an App that is meant to help you on this journey isn't working correctly, it's frustrating.  The whole main point of these trackers and watches is healthy living so it's imperative for the App to work correctly if ya ask me.  If any administrator is actually reading this, please provide an update as to the status of this issue.

it’s strange that you should mention food  disappearing and then being logged 5/6 times later ! I’ve just experienced the same problem plus the calories consumed on the breakdown page doesn’t match what is shown on the dashboard page! I am having to manually add up the food to make sure I’m not overeating,  it’s such a shame that this still hadn’t been fixed after all this time

Those issues have been happening to me for a while as in many months. I looked at other brands of fitness trackers but stuck with Fitbit but am wondering if we can solve our own problem by using FitnessPal or another App that works with Fitbit? It might require a subscription though and we shouldn't have to pay for something when we could already be using Fitbit. I haven't researched enough to know if this is a good solution.
