I am trying to set up a calorie deficit but every time I do it reverts back to a number of calories. I have restarted my Fitbit, deleted and reinstalled app multiple times, offloaded data. I am
clicking on my profile in the app and going to food goal under nutrition and weight, setting a calorie deficit and confirming my choice. It will show goal as calorie deficit but as soon as I leave that screen it reverts back to a daily calorie goal. I also don’t have the ability to set a goal weight, only body fat goal. My phone is running most recent iOS so I think it may be an app problem.

that’s great news 👍 I’ve just checked mine though and it’s still not working 😖

Just checked my Fitbit and it was holding the correct calorie deficit until it updated with calories burned then it reverted back to my total calories I’d put in for the day !
Fitbit, how much longer until this is fixed

I am in the same boat as many others-
now my calorie deficit “sticks” on my account, BUT the numbers are off. For example… if I select the 1,000 cal deficit, when I save and return to my nutrition page, it is actually calculating a 500 cal deficit.
any ideas on how to fix this?

There’s been quite a lot of help and ideas from the Fitbit community but nothing has worked for me. Mine is still stuck on 1100 as a deficit ( which is the amount of calories I don’t want to exceed per day ) I’ve also just noticed that my water intake is stuck and I can’t change that !
Fitbit experts , please sort as is gone on too long

I’m also having the same issue- I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app, signed out, signed in. Restarted my phone, nothing. Won’t even let me update a weight goal. When I sign in with my old Fitbit account, it works totally fine. Is it something to do with using my Google account? This is so unbelievably frustrating!!!!

that’s a good point about the google account, I hadn’t thought along that line.
I might try my old Fitbit account to see if that works. 👍

When I logged into my old account, it was definitely still working. But I was trying to add my charge to it and it wouldn’t let me. It was also saying that all Fitbit accounts are going to be gone by May 19 (I think that was the date) and that I had to merge my account to a Google account.
This whole thing is a mess and I really hope a fix comes soon. I just bought a new Fitbit, specifically for this feature, after being away from it for a few years, so it’s incredibly frustrating.

How confusing ! I just wish Fitbit would give an update to this problem and a date when it will be fixed. Like you, I have a relatively new Fitbit and one of the reasons I chose Fitbit over Garmin was because of calorie deficit information

This is hopeful!!! When did it start working again? I have my Fitbit attached to my Google account and just set it all up 3 days ago!
---
I’m hopeful seeing other people say it’s randomly started to work. I wonder if the issue is because they’re making the back end switch to Google accounts. Either way, a target date for a fix would be great!!

This is not fixed with fit 4.6.6 and latest IOS. If google claims it is fixed, are there steps users should take to make it work? Deleting app, logging in and out, restarting phone does not address the issue. @MarioSFitbit

Is there any update? My calorie goal has been at zero for a few days but now I can set a static goal but I still can’t set a calorie deficit goal.
