Charge 2 is unable to be set up.

I just got a new Charge 2. I downloaded the app on my iPhone and went through the process to add the device; however, it gets stuck on "Connecting to Fitbit" and the Charge 2 still has the setup message on the screen. I've read all the comments about updating the software but I can't do that because the Fitbit isn't paired to anything. I've tried resetting it multiple times (plugging it in into the charger and holding down the button four times), deleting and reinstalling the app, restarting the phone, and turning the Bluetooth on and off. Any other ideas?

Hello @efmatthews, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for letting me know the troubleshooting steps you've already tried in hopes to resolve this issue. At this moment I would like to ask you to check the following points before trying to set up your tracker again:

  • Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the setup process.
  • Update your phone if you're asked to.
  • Restart your Charge 2 once again, only this time leave it plugged in and charging.

After checking these points, let's try adding your tracker as a new device once again:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.
