Hi,
I've had my Charge 2 since December 2017, and it worked great initially, but after a while (maybe the first year and a half or so), I had to update my iPhone to a new iOS version. Ever since then, 2 things have been messed up with my Fitbit:
1. I no longer receive any text notifications, but I still get calls and calendar notifications on my Fitbit. I've looked through several different forums on here and have done everything suggested (restart iPhone and Fitbit, log out of and into the app, forget the device on Bluetooth then reconnect, make sure notification settings are on in the app, in my phone settings, and on the Charge 2 itself, etc), but to no avail - nothings works 😞 I feel like maybe it's a compatibility issue since I still get calls and calendar events? My Fitbit app is up to date as well.
2. My Fitbit was originally great during runs, and that's the main thing I use it for when tracking exercise, but it no longer seems to be capable of tracking my running distance correctly. It doesn't seem to connect to GPS, so I think it only counts my strides during runs, and because these tend to be variable (I tried adjusting them to what I thought was my average stride length in the app settings but it didn't help much), the device always falls short in terms of my actual mileage. I've tested it against multiple running apps on my phone that use GPS, and the pace/distance that the Fitbit gives me are always off. Additionally, oftentimes now when I run with the Fitbit on and my phone in hand, when I hold down the side button on the Charge 2 to begin my run, I get a notification on the Fitbit screen that I should 'check the Fitbit app,' so it seems like the device knows something is off. But the app doesn't say anything about what's going on. I've also gone through forum steps I could find on this, such as making sure GPS and location services are all on, but this hasn't helped.
Any advice? Are these just issues I'll have to deal with until the end of my Charge 2's life because of compatibility issues with iOS? Thanks so much in advance!!!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @emay23.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your experience with your Charge 2 and the issues you've started experiencing after the updating your iPhone to a new iOS version. Thanks for trying to resolve this, I appreciate the additional details. I totally understand how you are feeling and I am here to help.
Our team has recently released a new version of the Fitbit app. Please make sure you have downloaded the new version by following these instructions. It’s important that you carefully review your notifications settings on your iPhone. Please confirm if you've followed all instructions in Troubleshooting quick tips for iPhones. Make sure to toggle the iMessage setting: General > Messages > iMessage, verify the `Show Previews` to be on `Always`.
Regarding the issue with tracking your exercises, I would recommend checking out this article with information about the different factors that can affect connected GPS. In addition, you can perform a restart to your Charge 2 by following these instructions.
I also suggest confirming the following are correct in the Fitbit app:
- Your wrist settings (For more information, see Does the wrist I wear my device on affect accuracy?)
- Your height (For more information, see How do I manage my Fitbit profile?)
For more information about accuracy of Fitbit devices, please see How accurate are Fitbit devices?
Keep me posted on the outcome. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
