I was at over 8000 steps after a long walk. I synced and it showed on my dashboard. About an hour later the steps went down to 3000 and my active minutes down to 0. Is there a way to recover that data?

This is pretty weird let me help you. By any chance have you been manually logging your steps? Since when you manually log an activity, its step and calorie data override the data automatically detected by your tracker during the same time period. This ensures that your steps are not counted twice as long as the manually logged activity has the correct start time and duration.

I also recommend performing the restart, in order to manually add your steps follow the instructions below:

  1. On the Fitbit app dashboard tap the Exercise tile to open your exercise history. This is the tile that says "Track exercise" or shows how many days you've worked out this week.
  2. Tap the stopwatch icon in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Log.
  4. Tap a recent activity or search for an exercise type.
  5. Adjust the activity details and tap Add.

Let me know how it goes!

Yes, that's exactly what happened. I forgot to log my walk and when I input it manually it dropped my steps down. I was able to fix it, thanks!
