Charge 2 not pairing with iPhone 7

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My iphone 7 gets stuck on the "connecting" screen.  It finds my new charge 2, I entered the 4 digits, the tracker then goes blank, but the iphone remains on this screen with "connecting to fitbit".  I've force-closed the app, I've turned bluetooth off/on, I've restarted the fitbit, I've restarted the phone, but there's no difference - I continue to get stuck on this screen (after re-entering the new 4-digit code each time).

Hello @ReillyWood, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for letting me know the steps you've tried in order to resolve this issue. At this moment I would like to suggest you the following:

  • Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  • Restart your Charge 2 once again, then plug it in and make sure it's charging
  • Restart your phone one more time.
  • Try to set up your tracker as a new device once again:
    1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
    2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
    3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and if your tracker is still not able to set up, please reply to me so I can check this further. Additionally, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply as well.

Thanks Marco.

I chatted online with an agent after this post and in summary, after several attempts to help, recommended I return/replace the Charge 2, which I did.  The new Charge 2 connected like a charm.

I have tried everything suggested and my Fitbit charge 2 will still not pair with my iPhone to see text messages and calls.

I haven't been able to get my Charge 2 to pair for several months now on my iPhone 6. I have a new iPhone 7, just updated to OS version 12.1.4, Fitbit app version 2.89, and it still will not pair. . Like several others here on the forums, I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps repeatedly, with no luck.  I even contacted customer service to have a replacement Charge 2 tracker sent, and it still will not pair.  Can someone please get some real answers for us, for why this keeps happening? It's extremely frustrating, and makes me want to switch to a different brand tracker.

The thing that helped me pair when I was transferring from an iphone 5 to my new Iphone 7 was after being on this website for literally 2 hours clicking useless article/ help loops that this website provides, and waiting for the help person to answer chat (they didn't):

1) Make sure to disconnect the Bluetooth from your iPhone 6 and make sure that device 'forgets' your charge 2.

2) Delete the device from your old Fitbit app on the iPhone 6

3) Reset both your new iPhone 7 and the Fitbit charge 2. (to Reset your Fitbit plug it into the USB and hold the button for 10-12 seconds), (to Reset your iPhone hold the 'volume down' button and the button to the right of your iPhone 7)

4) Open the Fitbit app. (dont worry about trying to pair it to Bluetooth, no matter how long you wait it won't show up in the Iphone settings menu until you do the next steps)

5) Open your account in the Fitbit app. (In the upper right hand side you should see something that looks like a postcard)

6) Under your profile name you will see a "+ setup device" Click that. Scroll down till you see "Charge 2"

7) Agree to the terms and conditions, I didn't read it but I'm assuming I signed over my soul to Fitbit

😎 Next if you did all of the above in order, your iPhone 7 should pair up to the Fitbit Charge 2.

9) Type in the number that appears on your Fitbit Charge 2 onto your Iphone 7. This is where I freaked out a few times because I thought it was stuck on the "connecting to Fitbit' screen, but give it a minute or so and it should change to "pairing"

I hope this helps dude

Lol at "signed over your soul to Fitbit".  Some of us are still having trouble, even after going through the steps you listed.  I'm hoping maybe my second replacement Charge 2 will act right.

I also moved.  From a 6 to a 7 and no luck...I can’t even get to the 4 digits part. My concern is only the buzz I am not getting on the tracker. That is important to me in my work. It buzzes me for appointments from my schedule but not from texts...any ideas?

I’ve had 3 Charge 2’s and still cannot set up my Charge 2 to my iPhone 7.  Now the customer service wants me to return it again, saying they will send me a new one!!   And I have to pay for the shipping AGAIN!  any suggestions?!

I’ve received 2 replacements and I still am having difficulty pairing my charge2 with my iPhone 7.  All it does is “searching”. I’ve tried all the recommendations multiple times but to not avail.  Customer support asked that I return the third one but I am going to have to pay my own shipping charges!!
is there something else I could try??
