Charge 2 not receiving notifications since IOS 11 update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since the nee update I haven’t received text or phone call notifications to my fitbit. I have “forgot this device” in my bluetooth settings. I have disconnected my fitbit from my fitbit app. I have turned off and on all notification settings in the fitbit app, even restarted my phone after changing the settings and still nothing. Any help?!

Hello @Samiyaughn, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for letting me know the steps you've tried so far to troubleshoot Notifications on your Charge 2. At this moment and judging for the steps you've performed, I would like to suggest you to check if your Charge 2 is not currently in the "Do Not Disturb" mode by pressing and holding down the button on your tracker for 2 seconds while on the clock face. A message and a vibration will let you know if "Do Not Disturb" has been turned on or off.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let me know the outcome!

@MarcoGFitbit Unfortunately i have already tried the “Do Not Disturb” mode as well and that failed to solve the issue also.

Any other tips?

Thank you

I have the same problem, but I have also reinstalled the app and removed the Fitbit and paired it again. Nothing works.

This seems to be a structural issue...

Hello @Samiyaughn, thank for taking the time to reply, I hope you're doing fine. It's nice to have you on board @Daan1, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community.

Which iPhone model are you currently using? Which OS version is your phone running?

At this moment I would like to ask you to check your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:

Then, please update the Fitbit app if you haven't done it yet as we have just released a new version (2.41) recently and if you're still unable to receive Notifications, please let me know so I can check this further. Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

For me, the problem has been solved. I did all of the following:

  • Removed the tracker from the device and reinstalled it (twice)
  • Removed the app (twice) and reinstalled it
  • Manually disconnected the tracker from my phone via the Settings->Bluetooth menu
  • Restarted the phone
  • Installed the latest iOS and ran the update for the Fitbit app and the tracker

I’m not sure what did the trick, but in the end it worked. But I must say that it was an annoying exercise and I whish they had built the app such that it wasn’t necessary.

I have tried all of the above - some several times. I have also checked the settings regarding to MarcoGFitbit's post. Still no notifications when receiving texts, but notifications for calls and calendar events are ok. I have the last Fitbit version available and have the latest update for IOS11.0.2. The trouble started when I upgraded to IOS11

Any more suggestions?

Hello @Daan1, thanks for taking the time to reply, I hope you're doing well. It's nice to see you around too @Perle75, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community.

@Daan1, I appreciate you came back to me and have let me know your issue has now been resolved, I"m very glad.

@Perle75, Which tracker are you currently using? Have you restarted it yet? If so, please try to reset Notification by following these steps in order:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Go to the Fitbit app and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications and enable them again.
  4. When prompted, tap OK to pair your tracker with your phone (this is a Bluetooth pair, your phone is already paired to your account)
  5. Enable all 3 options (if available), text, calls and calendar.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try a couple of times and let me know the outcome.

Hi again,

I have Fitbit Charge 2 tracker. I have tried your steps now several times now. Also I have deleted the Fitbit app an reinstalled it several times as well as removing the tracker from the app and reinstalling it again. All this combined with restart of my iPhone including hard start (are what it is called).

Notifications from calls and calendar events is working well - it is only the text notifications that are not working.

I am having the same issue. Tried everything. Still not receiving text messages.

Also have the same problem since the update. Raised this a number of times with support at Fitbit but not getting much help. I don’t get any notifications, goal celebrations or silent alarms. Feel my Fitbit is now just a pointless fashion accessory, which is putting me right off it.

Same deal here. I’ve reached out to fitbit 3 times and no one has any tips that help. Hoping for an update that will clear this up soon.

I asked my sister who has iphone and was getting her texts to send me screen shots of all of her settings. In Fitbit setting have the location set to “always”. Notifications have everything “on” and contrary to past postings the banner set to temporary. This worked for me. I also rebooted and did the suggested steps 18 million times  prior so I was happy that changing the location to “always” must have been the trick. Good luck.

When I updated to ios11 it seems as though my fitbit charge 2 was no longer paired with my phone.  Went into fitbit app, tap on your account icon in top right corner, tap on arrow to the right of your device, click on notifications and then it asked to pair my fitbit again.  All was well after this.

Or so I thought.....  Not paired again today.

I have the same issue. I have tried everything all the suggestions have said. I even ordered a replacement Fitbit. Still doesn't work with my Iphone 7. It was fine on my Iphone 5s. So frustrated!
