Charge 2 not receiving notifications since IOS 11 update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since the nee update I haven’t received text or phone call notifications to my fitbit. I have “forgot this device” in my bluetooth settings. I have disconnected my fitbit from my fitbit app. I have turned off and on all notification settings in the fitbit app, even restarted my phone after changing the settings and still nothing. Any help?!

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great day. It's great to see you around @Littlemuzzy2, welcome to the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

@Littlemuzzy2, I'm very glad you're now able to receive Notifications by turning off the "persistent" option under the banners in the Fitbit Notifications on your phone Settings.

For all of you that are still not receiving Notifications, please go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure "Show in History" is enabled. Also, please select the Banners as Temporary instead of Persistent.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply, I'll be happy to help.

I tried it all! I finally gave up and bought an IFitness at Penney’s. Was very easy set up and I’m happy now.

Thank you so much for this tip. I had uninstalled and reinstalled my fitbit twice to no avail. This restored notifications to on in a heartbeat.

This was very helpful! I had notifications turned off on the actual Fitbit itself. As soon as I pressed and held the button down for 2 seconds it turned back on and has been working ever since. Thanks for the help!

I have tried this with my new iPhone 6 Plus many times and still cannot get phone call and message notifications. I have also reset the Fitbit using my computer a couple of times. It was working with my previous iPhone 5. Please help.

I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences this situation has caused you; would it be possible for you to let me know exactly which troubleshooting steps have you taken so far? Which tracker are you currently using? Additionally, I would like to ask you to go to your phone Setting > Notifications > Fitbit, take a screenshot of what you're able to see and reply to me with it so I can determine which steps should we take next.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

Thank you your help. The problem seems fixed on charging the Alta battery to its maximum. I will let you know if the problem recurs.

I have had the same problem, and just figured it out after trying every other option. Hold the side button for 2 seconds to turn notifications on or off. Mine was off. It doesn’t show up in the app as turned off. Didn’t even know about the side button option until now.

Hello @sweetkvqn, thanks for joining the conversation, it's always nice to welcome new members to the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for letting me know about the issue you're experiencing. Please note that if you're only unable to receive text Notifications it's possible a setting on your phone has been turned off, in which case I would like to suggest you to go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Messages and make sure the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications
  • Show on Lock Screen
  • Show in History.

If these options are already enabled, disable them, restart your your phone, enable them again and sync your Fitbit device.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else!

Which iPhone model are you currently using? Which OS version is your phone running?

At this moment I would like to ask you to check your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:

Then, please update the Fitbit app if you haven't done it yet as we have just released a new version (2.41) recently and if you're still unable to receive Notifications, please let me know so I can check this further. Thanks for your patience and understanding, I'll be waiting for your reply.

Hello @SunsetRunner, thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have shared your experience with me and for letting me know you have already tried the suggestions posted on this thread. At this moment I would like to ask you to check on your old phone, if you still have it at hand, Bluetooth settings. In here, check if your tracker is still on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and remove it. Then, set up Notifications on your new phone through the Fitbit app:

  1. Open the Fitbit app, tap on Account
  2. Tap on your tracker's name
  3. Tap on Notifications.
  4. Enable the Notifications you'd like to receive.

In case you don't have your old phone at hand or if you have already removed it from the Bluetooth Settings, my best recommendation would be setting up your tracker as a new device to reset the connection between the tracker and your phone. Don't worry, your tracker can store up to 7 days of detailed information and the information already synced to your account won't be deleted.

To set up your tracker as a new device:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  2. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  3. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  4. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let me know the outcome!
