I am undergoing a complex treatment for incurable Myeloma and the Charge 2 I wear 24/7 records HR steps sleep patterns included with fluid records and each of these tracks adds to the information I can supply to the oncology team at the hospital and their research colleagues I was blue lighted to hospital because of surge in blood pressure showing but not being recorded on my device but not syncing with my i phone because the upgrade went through just before my early hours medical event, My issue is that each time my phone upgrades i end up with out syncing capability that rather defeats the process and with my older device (charge 2 HR) I am finding the fixes more difficult amd less reliable. This might just be commercial gamesmanship with Apple but to me it is denying me valuable access to life threatening data at critical times and I need a solution that doesn't mean investing in new devices that would not provide me with better or more data In addition to the fact that it is to me unaffordable I flag this to raise awareness of the part Fitbit can play in real medicine as well as tthe laudable efforts they stress for global fitness and also to hyper commercial competitiveness with Apple
perhaps there must be a global standard connectivity respected by all devices from all manufacturers to prevent not fully tested slipshod upgrades on spurious security patches etc I need someone who recognises this issue and can help me find a solution that works now it can literally be life and death

If your Charge 2 stops syncing after a Fitbit app update, I'd recommend restarting your Charge 2 and mobile devices right after completing the update.
