Charge 3 not syncing with iPhone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So, I’ve been trying to figure out why my Charge 3 is not syncing with the iPhone Apple app.  Once every so often it will connect and download the data to the iPhone but mostly the app keeps saying can’t find a charge can’t find the charge.

But, lucky me, I have my Windows Phone WP10 also and that has a Fitbit app.  It immediately connects to the charge 3, downloads the data, updates, tells me about the battery life, etc. so it’s not a bad Charge 3

it’s the iPhone iOS app that’s busted.

Thats really sad.

Hello and welcome to the Fitbit Community @JohnSmith1882

Thank you for your post. I see you posted in the Charge 3 Forum as well. I moved your Charge 3 post to here with your other post. Since it’s more about the iOS device and not the Charge 3. (Please reframe from cross posting the same information. It can cause confusion and is against community guidelines)

Can you tell me about your iOS Device? What is the type and version? You can see if your device is compatible with the new Fitbit App here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2315
Please let me know if compatibility is the issue.

😃 Keep me posted

Hello again @JohnSmith1882

Thank you for providing me with your device information. You are indeed using a compatible device. Fantastic 😉 To help you with your syncing issue I would suggest restarting your Charge 3. Heres how:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button to restart your tracker:
    • For Charge 2—press and hold the button on your tracker for 4 seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
    • For Charge 3—press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

If you still notice charging issues after restarting your Charge 3 I would suggest turning your Bluetooth off then follow these directions:

log out of your Fitbit App

force shut your Fitbit App by swiping the app up

turn off your device completely and wait 1-2 mins before restarting it

once your device fully loads enabled your Bluetooth again

now log back into your Fitbit App as they normally word with your email address and password

now sync your Charge 3

😃 Please let me know if this resolves your syncing issue. Keep me posted

I have no interesting in resetting my Charge 3 when it works perfectly well with my Windows Phone running WP10.

Also  I don’t have charging issues, I have syncing issues with the Apple Fitbit software.

Fix the Fitbit SOFTWARE for the iOS.

Hello again @JohnSmith1882

I understand if you don’t want to try the restart procedure on your Fitbit Tracker. I also suggested force shutting the Fitbit App and restarting the Device. You can read reasons to restart your Fitbit tracker here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186

Hopefully that brings you the answer you seek for your syncing issues.
