Charge 3 won't sync and get 403 error

My fitbit Charge 3 suddenly would not sync on my iPhone 11Pro running IOS 14.3.  Fitbit app is latest version.  I followed all the suggestions. Bluetooth turn on/off, bluetooth forget device and redo device pairing, reboot fitbit, reboot iPhone. Etc etc. Didn’t work. Then suggestion was to forget device within fitbit app and re-do setup. When I did that I got http 403 error. Also followed advice from way back in 2017 “We received reports that an increased amount of users see Error 403 when attempting to set up or sync their device. If basic troubleshoots do not work (force quit app, restart tracker, restart device) users have reported uninstalling and reinstalling the app helps resolve the issue. ”. — uninstalling and reinstalling the app did not resolved the issue either.  Finally chatted with customer support who said that the issue is app related and needs to go to a “higher team” and that it would take 1 day to several weeks to get an email reply.

This is a pretty meaningless note. I’ve had multiple Fitbits and it would
still be my first choice if it were reliable and had turnaround times on
problems. Not synching and randomly not being able to set up and then being
told there is no estimated timeframe for resolution is no way to keep
customers.
