Well, I've heard some cases like yours, regarding the battery not lasting as expected and normally what I do is that I recommend some tips to make it last at least 5 days. Those instructions include the tips you have followed like have the heart rate in "Auto", however the all day sync is a feature that you should be able to take advantage of without any problem. So I urge to try the rest of the steps I posted and if the issue persists after a few days, please contact Fitbit Support.
