Custom Zone problem

I just updated my firmware. I was hoping that it would fix the problem I’m having trying to set a custom heart rate zone, but it didn’t. If I try to enter values, Fitbit ignores them and zeros the values out. Any suggestions?

For the longest time now (at least two years), the only way to set Custom Max Heart Rate which will affect zone definitions as well as the single Custom Zone is on the Web dashboard settings page. After the change is made, sync your device. The zone definition change should then be displayable in the mobile app.

In case you don't already know how to get there, from the main web dashboard, click on the gear icon at the top right and select "Settings". On the Settings page, scroll down to the bottom and select "HEART RATE ZONES". You will be presented with options to define a new custom zone or your max heart rate.

You will need to keep on top of the change as the FitBit servers have a tendency to reset the Max HR back to the traditional value of 220 - age. Even a simple act of changing your stride length in the app will cause the Max HR to be reset back to the traditional value. Something I have documented in the past.

Good luck and welcome to the boards.
