Dashboard is showing more steps than challenge

I am in 2 different challenge groups. My step count is showing the same as my dashboard in one of them but less in the other. My friend is also having the same problem. Mine is off by less than 100 steps but hers is off by over 1000. Any ideas?

@Micheleri  If the challenge was started in a different timezone then yours, then this is what is causing the difference in counts.
