Did you know Fitbit changed the dashboard look and you have to vote if you don't like it?

My phone automatically updates, so today was the first I heard about this cause my phone did it

Alaughter, Thank you for your service.  Stay safe over there.

Fitbit controls this site but not the App store reviews.  Everyone needs to go to their App store, Amazon & any other site Fitbit is listed on and both rate & write a review.  They can't delete those & it will definitely impact future sales.  Also copy what you post here so you can repost elsewhere when it's deleted.

Fitbit is in financial trouble. Maybe one of the reasons is that they have not been listening to customers for quite some time judging by some of the comments I have been reading. Allowing people to revert to the original or classic dashboard is not hard to do. I do not know why they resist. For those who complain and say they will not be buying a new Fitbit it may be irrelevant what you decide to do. There is a strong possibility Fitbit May cease to exist.

Disagree a bit there. I guess in the long run, all things go away.  But shorter term FitBit is more likely to be bought.  Possibly a competitor.  Possibly by someone not in this space who wants to play too.

As one of those who said they wouldn't buy one, I'm not sure what I'll do.  I have the FitBit One which I guess is discontinued.  I just took a look at their lineup and it looks like everything is a watch now.  Given I don't wear watches and really don't want a watch telling me I got mail or a phone call, it looks like FitBit doesn't want me to purchase a replacement when mine breaks anyway.

I actually just needed a watch and thought I would get one that could track calories burned and hours slept.  This community is an added plus everything else not as important.  I did check to see if the rumors about fitbit being bought were true.  While inconclusive the top 3 companies mentioned where Google, Apple, and Nike.

Google has been mentioned as a potential buyer and that really scares me...turning over all that personal information about Fitbit users to a company with one of the worst records for third-Party data sharing.

I previously said in one comment that Fitbit was up for sale and are actively looking for buyers. They have been losing money. The stock is way down. And they’re making watches competing with everybody else. This is all public news And in various financial papers.

Like you I don’t want a watch beeping and buzzing with every email or message. I just want to track steps, sleep, calories burned.
And I like the old classic dashboard. Simple and easy.

I’ve missed some posts- been in the hospital for a short bit.

Well, it was bound to happen. They are not producing the products or services their customers keep asking for. A persistent history of ignoring consumer needs will fail every time.

It was sure forced on me. I opened it up one day and there was this new version. As one  user said it was a first class DOWNgrade!!! No ability to exercise personal choice. The change was forced.

Best Answer

That is exactly what is happening. Consumers are turning off. And based on the various threads more and more will be turning off because they have no choice.Bringing back the classic dashboard is just one example but an important one.

Could be worse.  Could be Facebook

I'm a former Fitbit enthusiast, chased off by the new dashboard.  Because I've worn a Fitbit for 7 years, I was concerned about the continued use of my data--so I went into my account, downloaded a copy, then requested that my data be deleted.

Sorry, but hell hath no fury like a happy customer who wakes up one morning to learn her sleep has been judged, and found wanting.

Losing that partnership--checking my sleep while having my coffee--has hurt my fitness routine.  The good news?  I'm wearing a Garmin Vivosport 4 right now, and kicking the tires on Apple Watch apps.

If, like me, you are not a fan of the new dashboard and must move on, be sure to take your data with you.

Good tips on both issues.  Thanks & be sure to copy your post as well so you can repost it when their Delete-Happy moderator makes it "disappear" 😒

thx.

I didn't even know you could download it.  Will have to check that out

Some people do to share with their doctor and other medical advisers. Also some people just like to download it for convenience and to keep it long term. I know one fellow who runs a little analysis on it from time to time call leading it with other things in his life to see if there are correlations with stress factors in the amount of sleep he’s getting.

Fitbit shares increased 23% last month as a result of the talk about selling the company. Even with that increase, shares are still down 20% for the year.

I realized today that there is no buzz or leaks about new trackers. I am fairly certain Fitbit  puts out new trackers about this time each year so they can cash in on the Christmas holidays.

Fitbit- please start listening to your customers. You used to be a great company and we miss it.

Well their stock price may have gone up a little bit from the All Time Low. But they did not find a buyer. Media speculation is they may not or at least certainly not at a price that stockholders would find attractive given former prices and how far it has dropped.

And you were right - Fitbit would probably be better off If Only at listen to its customers. For example give us back our classic dashboard. This new one is not popular.

And to make matters worse, nearly 3 months after the initial release, they STILL haven’t fixed many of the problems their user base have pointed out, complained about .... errrrrrrr. Bad programming practices copied from Facebook ...
