Deleting Challenges once completed

Hey Fellow Fitbitters,

I was wondering if someone could possibly help me! My friends have all recently got fitbits and we've all added eachother on the IOS app, and we've started the challenges. However, I notice you can only have 5 challenges at a time & we have a slight problem because we are unable to deleted the completed challenges in order for us to accept the new challenges.

Does anyone know how to delete the completed challenges, you can't seem to do it in the IOS app. I've also looked on the settings here and I cannot seem to find it either.

Any help would be great!

Happy walking / exercising all 🙂

Thank you

Welcome to our Community @Rosie10! It's nice to have you here! Smiley WinkI'd like you to know that at the moment you can only quit an active challenge, meaning that finished challenges will remain visible for three days. After three days the finished challenges will disappear. To quit an active challenge, open it and find Options, then choose the Quit option.

Hope this helps, let me know how it goes! Cat Wink

Thanks for stopping  by @cynnee @SunsetRunner @OneEmi Smiley Very HappyThank you for your suggestion. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. The best place to make your voice heard is the Ideas board on our community, which our product development teams consult regularly to ensure we're delivering on what our customers need and want. I've found this suggestion that is very related about what you want, vote for it!

On a side note @OneEmi, in this case the owner of the challenge needs to resend the invitation in order for you to participate.

As a friendly reminder, invitees have twenty-four hours to accept an invitation. If people join after the challenge starts, their step data for the entire length of the challenge will count towards the challenge.

After a challenge is underway you can still invite other Fitbit friends. To do so, open the challenge and find the options. You'll be able to select the friends you want to include and send them invitations.

Have a great day!

I completed my first challenge over a week ago, but it still hasn't dropped off, so I can't start a new one.  I've tried signing out and back in, no change.  What can I do to clear that completed challenge so I can start a new one?

Best Answer

@Golfboy362  Unfortunately, this is a known issue for some users (myself included.). Fitbit is aware of this error and is working toward a resolution). No ETA at the time.

Wish I had better news for you, but there is nothing we can do to correct this but wait for a fix.

Thanks!  I hope Fitbit gets that fixed SOON, as it's disappointing to not be able to do any of the other challenges

My completed challenges won't fall off. They've been on here for a week. How do I get rid of them??

Hey there @Blueyez64-64, thanks for stopping by! Hmmm... this is very strange. As you may know finished challenges will remain visible for two days. After two days the finished challenges will disappear. However, if you want to quit and active challenge, you'll need to open it and find Options, then choose the Quit option.

Anyways, if your challenges have been already completed for everyone included in it and not just you, I'd recommend doing the following:

  • Log out of your Fitbit App
  • Force quit the App
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit App

Let me know if this works!

I figured out why they don't seem to delete.  The challenge waits for everyone to sync, then, declares the winner, then deletes 3 days I guess after the winner is declared.   Fitbit needs to add 3 tabs for challenges 1.  In progress 2. Starting and 3. Completed.  I don't like clutter and this would let us find what we want easier.

Hello there,

can you please make the option to manually hide the completed competitions? It is really annoying to have the entire screen full of them and sometimes it is confusing to find out the currently active ones.

Thank you!

A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community @LittleMato! As I've mentioned hereI'd recommend checking out our Feature Suggestion Board if you haven't already. This is a space where Community users can post features, ideas, and suggestions that they'd like to see in future Fitbit products, accessories, and software and top-voted suggestions get relayed to our product team for review. Smiley Very Happy

I'd also recommend up-voting and commenting on Completed Challenges feature suggestion since it is very similar of what you're looking and asking for.

Happy stepping!

Does this also go for completed goal day challenges (they are deleted on the app after 3 days)?

This issue still has not been addressed. Have signed the petition for this to happen. But yet Developers still haven't listened since 2015 when this issue was first addressed. Do you honestly care about your community or would you rather people move onto other devices like Garmin.

Updated Fitbit software is wack!

supposed to be able to be in 10 active challenges. Won’t work. Fitbit keeps counting finished challenges in the 10. Why won’t it remove like it used to.

this makes software useless!!!
