Distance isn't accurately reflecting mileage from synced exercise

I tracked a 4.05 mile walk this morning using the Track Exercise function in the Fitbit app. The walk is synced to my app, but the current total distance on the main dashboard screen is 3.07 miles. Any idea why this is happening/how I can fix it?

@tarynwills87 A warm welcome to our Fitbit Community! Seems odd that your Fitbit app doesn't show the correct distance. I'd like you to make sure that your phone has the most recent app version installed. If so, log out of the app, turn off your phone and turn it back  Once this has been done, open the app, log in and try another walking activity as a test and check out if the problem persists.

 

Also, I would like to know if the route you walked has steep parts, since your stride length might get less and this way will make the distance shorter.
