Hey, @NSDUO! As far as I know, MobileTrack works on its own, just using the gyroscopic data from the phone. As far as steps go, I'm pretty sure only tracker data factors into challenges.

@NSDUO MobileTrack doesn't take step data from the Health App, MobileTrack uses your phone's sensors to keep track of basic stats like: steps, distance, and calories burned and MobileTrack also counts towards Challenges.
The sensors in your grandma's iPhone stores step data and by giving the Fitbit App permission to access those sensors, the fitness data is retroactively added to your Fitbit account.
