Using the app on iPhone, and it is duplicating some of my entries in the food log. On top of that, when I try to delete them out, they come right back after I have closed the app and reopened it.

Hi @NoelleMK,

For clarification, what type of iOS device are you using and what iOS version is it running (ie iOS 9.2, iOS 8, etc)?

Also how did you log your food by barcode scanning, using the food database, using a 3rd party app, or create a custom food log?

Keep me posted!

Hi, @DerrickS.

I'm using the most current version of iOS, which I believe is 9.2 (?), and I use an iPhone 5. I was using the barcode scanner as well as searching and selecting the foods that duplicated.

Thank you for the reply.

Hi Derrick

I'm having the exact same problem with items of food duplicating, mainly my lunchtime Soup!  I resync and check the dashboard online and have even cleared the cache and reset my phone and still the item will come back which then messes up the calorie count.  Then it'll vanish and the count will still be too high than that resets and the item is back again.  The items I am having issues with are under my Frequent tab.  I have an iphone4s running iOs 9.2.1.

The app is doubling my intake and showing that I am over my calorie count for the day. This is not the first time it has happened. How can I fix it? I use myfitnesspal to enter my food. And I'm on an iPhone 5c. Was doing it before the update and now after. Any way to delete the second dinner it is adding?

Mine is having problems as well. I have 280 at Breakfast, 330 at Lunch and I've entered 210 of my Dinner but it tells me my overall caloric intake for the day is 2386. Definitely not correct! How do I fix this?

@NoelleMK Thanks for providing more info! This is going to help our team with investigating this issue.

@Nadi68 How are you logging your food? By barcode scanning, using the food database, or create a custom food log? Keep me posted!

HI, I'm having the exact same problem, plus a few variations:

1. I enter an item but it does not show up in the food log. I try to enter it again and then it shows up, but twice the number of calories are being added to the total (though the log only shows one entry). Eventually the second item shows up, and I try to delete it, but it keeps coming back no matter what I do.

2. I try to change the serving size of an item after it has already been entered into the log. After the next sync, the serving size goes back to the original value. Over and over again.

3. I move an item from, say, dinner to evening snack. It stays there for quite some time, but after a few syncs, it goes back to it's orginal position.

Last night I thought I had everything fixed, but this morning I had 3 new duplicate entries put back in, a reverted serving size, and a food item moved back to the wrong time slot.

I enter food items using barcode scanning, custom food log, recent food log, and database entry. This problem seems to happen with all of the above methods except for maybe barcode scanning, though items that were previously barcode scanned and then entered in again from the "recent foods" list show this problem. I am using an iPhone 4s, with not the latest OS (because only a fool would install 9.x on a 4s). Also, this just started happening yesterday (that I noticed).

Mine is doing the same, it is adding in multiple dinners with a slightly different calorific value so that i appear to be horribly over my recommended intake! I have found out how to delete the incorrect meals, but the next time i open the app they are back again! This has only begun to happen recently but is applying itself retrospectively to meals eaten (or not!) up to 2 weeks ago! How can i correct this, please?

Hi Derrick

I can't remember how the items were originally added hence me sayng they were from my 'frequent tab'.  Most of these items have been on my app for months.  The last three days the issue is getting worse.  It's duplicating entries in all my meals.  I then go online on my pc to try and retify it only some are missing from there that are on the app even after syncing both ways.  I delete them on the app then they readd but I can't delete them again as there is no delete option anymore but luckily once that happens the calorie count is fixed but I'm still stuck with duplicate entries in my app log.  The pc log then clears and is back to normal.

@Kaskev86 @KristaMDavis@SunsetRunner @Marsupi1 I've merged your posts into this thread where a similar conversation is happening. If you could all answer the questions in my previous post, it would be incredibly helpful with my investigation. Thanks in advance!

@Nadi68 Thanks for the followup! For clarification, are you able to delete food logs on Fitbit.com or are you unable to delete food logs on both the iOS App and Fitbit.com?

Hi, i am using iphone 5, running ios 9.2.1, and am entering my food on MyFitnessPal using mostly Food Search, occasionally scanning the barcode. I am not creating any custom foods. It's not happening every day, just occasionally i notice the meter is showing red and saying too many calories taken in, when i check back to that day it has added e.g . multiple dinners for that day but each with a slightly different calorific value! I can delete them but they come back when i close the app and reopen it! It hasnt happened for a couple of days now.
Thanks!

Hi, I'm having this issue. When I add food through MyFitness Pal, then go into my iPhone 6 app and subsequently add additional food to a meal where there was already some food. It's now getting worse where it's no longer showing as a duplicate entry on the full website where I used to easily delete it. It's now folded it into one entry

i just deleted 4 varied calorie amounts that appeared in my lunch summary, making me way over my goal. This also happened a few weeks ago.

Hi Derrick

I am having exactly the same problems; FitBit is adding my meals twice from MyFitnessPAl logged on my iPhone 6.  I have deleted on my PC but it's not synched across to my iPhone.  It added what I put on to on epoint, and then adds the completed meal again.  Like others I am then way over my daily allowance. It's only happened in the last htree days.

@DerrickS I'm having the same issue as well. I'm using iOS 9.2.1 on and iPhone 7. I see it happening when scanning a barcode or selecting from the list of previous enteries. Not using any third party apps. Also I'm able to delete the duplicated enteries on the app and online with the original remaining.
