Exercise not being recorded on Fitbit app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit app is no longer recording any exercise. For example this morning I went for a walk and started my versa 3 with gps to record the exercise.  It is showing on my versa 3 but will not show on the app. Likewise I did a treadmill session at lunchtime, started my versa 3 and it recorded the session but won’t show on the app.
I’m on an iPhone 12 running iOS 17.6.1

fitbit app version 4.24

I have so far done the following:

updated the app and moved over to google
force closed the app and restarted

turned my phone off and on

restarted my versa 3.
None of this has helped so now my versa 3 is pretty useless.
I was looking to upgrade to a versa 4 but not if this continues.
How do I get my exercise logs back please?

I have been having this Fitbit issue for 3+ months, ever since I migrated from Fitbit to Google Dashboard. This issue has been happening on both iOS 17.7.1 and iOS 18.1 on my iPhone 14 Pro Max devices.  Finally, this issue has been handled very badly by Google/Fitbit and I'm not confident that it will be fixed.  It's unclear what the issues are internally but customers of Fitbit devices deserve much better from these organizations.

Yep, mine is soon going to be thrown out, beyond frustrating! First the calories used during exercise incorrect, so 1hr Pilates shows as 190 cals and when added to app shows as 30! Now today app not showing active hours, zone minutes……totally useless and unacceptable

Hi Juan,

iPhone 11, IoS 17.7 - issue is with all runs both with Charge 2 and Fitbit Blaze.

Really frustrating. I now have to record my runs using Strava on my phone. I have used Fitbit for years and love them, but this is making me think of going elsewhere.

I can’t believe that this issue is still ongoing. Fitbit Sense shows my 40 length 1000m morning swim fine when I complete it, but the Fitbit app syncs and records it randomly between 1 and 5 lengths. Fortunately I can manually edit it to the correct distance, but really, what is the point if you gave to input the data yourself? @JuanFitbit we feel totally abandoned - you’ve had more than enough info over the months from this board. If your team can’t fix it please employ someone who can!

I have a Charge 2 on Iphone 12 Pro Max , and it just got worse, came back from a 5 km run, the watch showed my the KM , but zero steps shows up on the app or the watch, even though my watch buzzed because I reached my step goal for the day! I dont understand how this issue is not solved , its been going on since August... This unfortunately will not have us buy more Fitbit products, we will just look for other brands that listen to their customers. Really too bad I enjoyed the product and the dashboard.

Just to add my two cents, I’ve been having the same or similar problems with my Inspire 3 for months. In my case, it records the exercise duration incorrectly, and even changes past period durations and dependent calculations like walking pace. A few days ago, while relaxing and watching TV, it thought it detected a spinning session!! Right now it’s useful as an alarm clock, but that’s about it.

New issue !  I’m now entering my data manually and it will delete the previous workout data entered … let’s say I did a run and a workout , I enter the run , then add the workout the run disappears and I have to write it manually again …

Don’t want to be negative here but for an issue that’s been ongoing  since August it’s a slap to all the clients that purchased a device and were loyal to the brand …

They SAY they're working on it but how hard can it be to just make it work
like it used to? Time for some new software engineers.

Thanks @JuanFitbit, I'm sure you mean well, but I think you've said this to us a few dozen times. Each time, the same message with zero useful information.  Based solely on the nonexistent results on this, it is beyond me how anybody at Google/Fitbit could possibly be "working hard."  Know what I mean, Juan?

I guess we like repetition here, so I'll repeat myself.  The Google Fitbit app is almost 100% useless.  We all want the original Fitbit Dashboard that worked flawlessly for years, and across platforms.  I'm pretty sure that would take about ten minutes for the "hard working" team to do.  Of course, if Google insists on shoving the shoddy "app" down our throats, how about at least making it work properly?

And, again, I simply do not see how Google can't fix this.  So I have no choice but to conclude this is purposeful.  Can you tell us why?  What's the point?

Don't forget, any real fix on this must include us all being able to see our complete data all the way back to late August and long before that.  We need it all.

Thanks again for all the "hard work."
