I initiated a walk from the iPhone app today. A few minutes later my Charge 6 detected a walk and prompted me to start an exercise session. Seems odd that the watch didn’t see that an exercise session had already been started.
Is this expected behavior? Are there settings I should change to avoid it?

Hello @targe and welcome to the Community. When you start a walk on your app, you are using a feature called MobileRun. MobileRun uses your phone's motion sensors to track your steps. You don't even need a Fitbit at all to use MobileRun. Your Charge 6 tracks activity with its own accelerometer. In simple terms, your Fitbit doesn't "know" that you are using the app, too. That's just not how the Bluetooth communication works.
Your Charge 6 Exercise app has a feature called Walk Detect. If you want to turn it off, please do the following: swipe left/right on your Charge 6 screen to Exercise, then choose Walk. Swipe up on the screen until to the Walk settings. Look for Walk Detect and toggle it off.
Many users are experiencing an issue where MobileRun doesn't create the correct map. It looks like the GPS doesn't sample often enough:
If this is happening to you, then use the Exercise app on your Charge 6 and start/stop it on your own. I personally don't use Walk Detect on my Sense 2.
