So I posted a whole back about my Fitbit app not tracking the distance for walks. Someone disabled the post so I have to start a new one. It still is not working and I have received no help.
Original post “Since I transferred my account to google my Fitbit app on my iPhone 11 no longer tracks my walking exercise route accurately. Nothing else has changed. I have locations on always and I start and stop the walk on app manually. The route will stop or start in different places excluding parts of the walk. It also has me cutting through peoples yards and houses making a triangle. In case it is relevant I have a charge 2. ”
I am posting two screenshots. The first one is what should be tracked. The second is what is now tracked.

@Wildflower24 The only thing I can think of is that your Charge 2 is aging and the hardware to send/receive GPS signal isn't working. Have you tried restarting the device or doing a factory reset to see if that helps? My theory is that your watch is simply old starting to fail.

I’ll have to look up how to do that but will try.

@Wildflower24 You wrote that you are starting and stopping your walk in the app. I honestly don't think that your Fitbit model has anything to do with your issue. You are using a feature called MobileRun. You actually don't need a Fitbit at all to use this feature. All tracking data comes from your iPhone.
I use an iPhone, but I don't use MobileRun. I will try tracking some walks this way and see what happens.

@LZeeW Good catch Laura! I missed the part where @Wildflower24 said she was starting/stopping the walk from the phone app. I agree that is the issue and she should use the watch to track walks, not the phone.

@Wildflower24 I don't think your experience has anything to do with the fact that you migrated your account. And I don't think it has to do with the fact that you use a Charge 2. MobileRun isn't tracking correctly and I had the same experience as you. I haven't migrated to Google and this is yesterday's walk:
Like you, I'm confident that all my settings are correct. For some reason, the GPS isn't sampling as frequently as it should. I know many users like MobileRun because it can give you voice cues. Like @Heather-S mentioned, you should use the Exercise app on your Charge 2. Unfortunately, I don't think Fitbit will fix this issue. All current devices have an Exercise app and I suspect they think that MobileRun is obsolete.

Thank you. I have not tried it with the Fitbit itself as I found the app easier to manage but I will now. I’ll try it on my next walk.

I tried the walking feature on the Fitbit itself and the distance was definitely close to what I’ve gotten before so I guess I’ll start doing that instead of using the app. Thank you for you help and suggestions.
