Once you open the app click join and enter different email, click the device and reset Fitbit. Worked for me.

@JLmay12  just to clarify, this wi”l not factory reset the Fitbit.  This will associate it with a different Fitbit account.

Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android
