Feedback about the new Dashboard.

I hate the new Fitbit iPhone app!  My fiancé had the same problem where his app switched to the new one (that everyone on here somplains about...it’s boring and isn’t motivating)!  As soon as his app switched back to the old version, mine switched over to the new one.  Super odd and hating it!  I want my old app back.

Thank you for your feedback. We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, and we very much appreciate all of the input we receive from our customers. At this moment it's not possible to switch between Dashboard designs, but I would like to encourage you to check @JoeKII's suggested idea to implement this feature in the future. Feel free to add your vote and comment, this is the best to make your voice heard.

Why change something which isn't broken?

The new interface is awful, icons and type underneath are bland and too small and you now have to scroll down to see data which was once all viewable as a block of bold icons.

Lots of niggly bugs and just devalues the whole experience

Why, why, why?

@richmix and @Rosie1858 if we do a search of the feature suggestion board we will see that there are many requests for enhancements to the dashboard of which the new design has to fullfill.

Basically the design changes are in response to the needs of the community that felt that the dashboard is broken.

Best Answer
You explain how you've enhanced it please in response to feedback?

The screen layout wasn't "broken" but is now but if you can point me to the unanimous requests from your customers to make a new, bland and hard to read un intuitive app which was once perfectly fine, then please do

This morning when i opened the app, i was greeted with a blank screen (tried to post but you can't upload images) to add to my evidence of how bad the new app is now yet you say many others had compkai of a broken home screen?

Tonight I Just met all of my goals for  today and the bland screen didn't even change colour or flash!

Hate it hate it hate it. Once you decide to roll this out to everyone, I expect the moral majority will agree

It’s obvious that the consumer has no say in the experience. It’s  been suggested to leave a review on the Fitbit App Store. Maybe if it takes too much of a hit then maybe they take a second look or at least give the option of the other dashboard? Mine reverted back to the old and I was elated only to discover 24 hours later it’s back to the new one.

I not sure if I understandeaving a review on the change I on thie dashboard.. Which is seoerate and unrelated to the app version.

Can we at least move the heart rate section so that it is directly below the Today stats or allow the heart rate tile to be included in the activity items?  I use the heart rate tile all the time at the gym while on the tread mill or elliptical because i am older and can't see as well as i used to and can't wear my glasses while working out.  The app was much easier to read during a workout then the display on my Ionic.  The old layout had tiles that were much bigger that you could actually read.  This view is a more "modern" layout and i like it but the old layout was much easier to read.

Hey Community Legend, please answer or respond to the community on these points;

1. What community suggestions have you implemented in this new dashboard?

2. What bits were "broken" and were more "broken" than they are now?

3. How have you enhanced the dashboard? : The graphics are bland. They are too small to read when exercising. You cant now swipe back through previous days on the main screen area (you have to swipe on the "today" banner at the top. The tiles have gone and are now bars and you have to scroll to find them. Your goals are rewarded by shading the tiny icons with a dull, solid area of turquoise and now fail to explode with brightness when you meet your daily goals.

Search the forum for how many people actually detest the new dashboard instead of making crass excuses for a bodged update.

Here is another vote against the new layout. Just another change in design just for the sake of change, it seems. It's bland and gives me LESS information at a glance. If you really value my feedback, you would allow me to use the layout I prefer.

Totally agree, absolutely hate the new app.  I I like to log my food intake and could easily see how many calories I had left as I had the tile at the top.  Now it's right at the bottom and I can't see anyway to move it.  Thinking of getting a garmin instead.

Thank you everyone for expressing your frank responses to the “new and improved” iOS app 3.0!  I can see few, if at all, reasons to update and therefore I am NOT updating from 2.95.

I have enough grieves with the erroneous and erratic Charge 3 floors counts to be bothered with further app and dashboard issues!

Hate the new app! Bland and not at all motivating!

Add me to the list of people who don’t like the new dashboard. Scrolling to see what I used to see at a glance, tiny fonts I can’t read without my glasses, no excitement when I hit a goal. Why would I want to use this app?

Best Answer

The new dashboard is horrendous particularly for users who simply want to show their steps. Instead of expanding the one tile I use to fit the screen (like previous versions) I now have a tiny little tile up the top with the screen being dominated by the message about using Discover to update my dashboard. I think it’s time for me to give up on Fitbit.
