I have to say that FitBits failure to decide to sync with Apple Health is about to cause me to stop buying FitBit products. FitBit should not put their loyal customers in a position to have to choose.
I am curious how many others have been pondering this same issue.
Unfortunately, I suppose those who have already dropped FitBit are no longer on this forum.
Moderator edit: Subject for clarity
But then the many that have dropped apple watches for the ability to customize their trackers are no longer on apple forums. Yes I know several that put their AW I'm the draw and went out and bought a Fitbit.
It's your call @SELawton neither Fitbit nor Apple can tell you what to buy.
That's not entirely true. I don't know the details in what it takes for a company to get access to Apple Health, but there are plenty of non-Apple Watches that can sync to the Health app. Yet for whatever reason, Fitbit has actively chosen not to be one of them.

Your assumption is wrong. Apple is only allowing certain brands to sync to Apple Health. It has nothing to do with what Fitbit or other companies have “chosen.” Your last line should read ... “Apple has chosen not to cooperate with Fitbit.” Did they decide this to try to hurt Fitbit business? Probably.
That’s 100% not true. Fitbit has stated time & time again they have no intentions of allowing syncing to Apple health. They want to monetize our data for themselves. This is all on Fitbit

That is very true. Fitbit does not push themselves into other companies, but invited the other companies to team up. With the exception of two companies. Every company linked up to Fitbit by using Fitbits opem, API. In fact it is so easy to link up with Fitbit that it is impossible for Fitbit to know every company or person that links up. Do you think Fitbit realizes that I wrote a script for a spreadsheet that stores my Fitbit data from my Fitbit account? Do you think I told Fitbit that I did this? How was this possible for me to do this? I simply used the free open tools that Fitbit provided.
So if Fitbit has invited anyone to pair up with them and many companies and individuals have already done this without asking Fitbit for permission, what is stopping Apple, besides Apple, from doing the same thing.
Of course Fitbit says they have no plans to do this, Apple already has been invited to pair up with Fitbit. Can you take a guess as to why Apple has not stepped up and initiating the pairing process?
This is up to Apple, not Fitbit.

Welcome to the Forums @SELawton. Hi @waynezwor1d thanks for your participation on the Fitbit Forums. Thanks for your help @Rich_Laue and @SunsetRunner.
At the moment, we have no visibility on future plans about this integration and I totally understand that people want us to make this integration ourselves, but note that even if the status of this feature request is "not currently planned", any 3rd-party developers would be able to create an iOS app that would sync our data with the Health app by using our Web API. It may not be the perfect solution, but it would be an option for now.
You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.
I'll be around.

I just want to chime in that I will likely be abandoning Fitbit as well, due to its lack of integration with the Apple health app. I really need my sleep and steps tracked in there.
I also mention that I am likely to abandon Fitbit partially because I believe the heart rate tracking on Apple is better.
Anyway, apple health integration is a feature that Fitbit should Work with Apple to implement, at least IMO.
Best AnswerMy first thought is that, "it takes two to tango". Does anyone in this thread seriously think that Apple has any desire to work with integrating Fitbit into their system?
They have their own agenda and feel every user will be happy with it.
Apple seems to wonderfully understand what their users want by blocking many should be easy to add third party features. Refuses to repair $20 dollar power ports that simply plug into the mother board but tell the user they need to buy the whole board.

Just so you know, It’s the other way around ... Apple is not willing to work with Fitbit. Please let Apple know that they should work with Fitbit to integrate the feature.
