Fitbit Blaze won’t pair with iPhone X

Have removed the device, uninstalled and reinstalled the app and Fitbit keeps giving an error after the very first step. It says “turn on Bluetooth to pair device”; however the Bluetooth is on both on the phone and on the Bluetooth classic. I have seen the numbers flash to confirm pairing but then I get the error and can’t move forward.

I have exciting news for everyone! iPhones X/8/8+ have been added as compatible on on fitbit.com/devices.

There is much testing involved in such a process. I highly appreciate all of your patience regarding this matter! All features should be working at a 100% using these iOS devices!

Happy Holidays! Smiley Happy

I’m having a problem with this too, not sure if it’s that the app isn’t set to work with the iPhone X? But same problem, my blaze isn’t being identified by Bluetooth on my iPhone X. Really disappointed.

I'm having the same problem - iPhone X will not recognize Blaze

Hey I had the same problem and then realised that my Blaze was still connected to my old phone that was close by. Turned off Bluetooth on the old phone and connected straight away no problem to the iPhone X.

Best Answer

I figured it out!  There was a software update for the Blaze - I had to reconnect to my old phone, do the software update and then disconnect from old and the new phone saw it right away!

Hello @lauramont@sunshineh, @SunsetRunner and @MikeyO, I hope you're all doing well, it's a pleasure for me to welcome you to the Fitbit Community.

@sunshineh and @MikeyO, thanks for letting me know your issue has now been resolved, I'm glad your Blaze was able to set up in your iPhone X.

@lauramont and @SunsetRunner, at this moment I would like to suggest you the following troubleshooting steps in case your trackers are still unable to pair to your accounts:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your old phone (if you have it at hand) and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Restart your Blaze by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  5. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink

Having the same issue with my charge 2 and new iPhone X. I don’t have access to my old phone tho. Frustrating!

Right after I got my new iPhone X, I returned my old iPhone to its factory settings. Should I download the app again on my previous iPhone and unpair my fitbit blaze with the previous iPhone as well??

Or... do you still have the USB dongle and a computer you can sync Fitbit to? Then you can update Fitbit software that way. And then it will connect to iPhone X.

I just got a new iPhone X and I am getting the same error. Surely someone at Fitbit has a fix for this issue. If not, is there something in the works? I would hate to be forced to leave the Fitbit community because of this incompatibility.

There is a fix – you need to update your fitbit software prior to connecting to iphone X

I did, it made no difference. FitBit needs to get this figured out ASAP.

It is figured out.  It does too make a difference.  I was in the exact same situation as you and I got it to work.  Not fair for you to blame FitBit when they did fix it and it works now.  I have had my Blaze connected to my iPhone X since I got the iPhone X in mid November.  It works beautifully.

Hey everyone!

@Amararani @Sluck @Amander9448 @stef152 @misterJames @sunshineh Thanks for your reports about this. I wanted to step into this thread and inform you guys that iPhone X is not yet listed as compatible on fitbit.com/devices and that is the reason why some of you have been having difficulties syncing or setting up your Blaze devices to your iPhone X's. Therefore, some or all functionalities may or may not always work at a 100% even after trying @sunshineh's workaround.

If possible, try setting up or sync via a device listed as supported or using a computer. Our team is always working to test and add more iOS devices to the supported devices list, so keep an eye open for updates!

See you around guys. Smiley Very Happy

I just got my iPhone X.  I am not able to sync it with my blaze.  I am concerned and would like to continue to use my blaze.  Is there a fix?
