Fitbit Blaze won’t pair with iPhone X

ANSWERED

Have removed the device, uninstalled and reinstalled the app and Fitbit keeps giving an error after the very first step. It says “turn on Bluetooth to pair device”; however the Bluetooth is on both on the phone and on the Bluetooth classic. I have seen the numbers flash to confirm pairing but then I get the error and can’t move forward.

I got new iPhone X yesterday, updating from iPhone 5s, could not get it to Sync to my fitbit, eventually realized it was still paired to old phone, simply turn off BT on previously synced device (and delete pairing), especially if both phones are in close proximity to each other. This is one possible solution.

Hello @CoolAss, I hope you're doing well, it's great to have you on board the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

hanks for bringing this to my attention. If your Charge 2 is still having trouble setting up, please try the following:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone; wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  2. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal and that there are no other Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the setup process.
  3. Restart your Charge 2
  4. If you can't set up after a restart, reboot your phone or tablet and try to set up again.
  5. If you can't set up after the reboot, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone or tablet and try to set up the Charge 2 one more time.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let me know the outcome!

Hello @Maandyyy, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. It's nice to see you around too @apk1973 and @LucianT, thanks for taking the time to reply @CoolAssSmiley Happy

@CoolAss, I appreciate you have come back and let me know your issue has now been resolved, I'm very glad.

@LucianT, which tracker are you currently using? Have you restarted your tracker and your phone already? If so, I would like to suggest you and @apk1973 to check the following:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart it one more time.
  7. If your Fitbit device won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

@Maandyyy, which tracker or watch are you trying to set up? Are you getting any error messages when trying to set up? In which step of the process does the setup halts? Could you please reply to me with a screenshot? That will be very helpful for me to check this further.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

Has the iPhone XS been added. It won’t even show out in the Bluetooth list

Hello @Hiten50, thanks for joining the conversation, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums. Please note that even when the iPhone XS hasn't been added to the list of compatible devices, it's possible to set up your Fitbit device to it, but the device will not appear on the list of paired devices if it hasn't been paired yet and the Fitbit device will not pair nor sync through the Bluetooth devices.

Please download the Fitbit app if you haven't yet and follow these steps to set up your device:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  2. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  3. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.
  4. After tapping on "Pair" and finishing the setup process, you'll be able to see the device on the list of paired devices on the Bluetooth Settings of your phone.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I’m having the exact same problem and have done all the resets, uninstalls and reinstalls and Bluetooth is on my phone but Fitbit  will not pair with iPhone XR no matter what I do.  Very frustrating.  I have even tried setting up as a new device but no luck.

I’m not very impressed as I now have a $200.00 pedometer!

Just keep trying to pair it. It’s actually apples issue not Fitbit. Mine eventually paired and works fine now.

It eventually pair but I don’t get call or text notifications even though I have tried all of the recommendations over and over.  Also now my steps on the dashboard have changed to calories and there is no option to change back.  Again tried all of the recommendations for fixing this to but nothing works.

Hello @Tlmc1234 and @JBird2, I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have shared your experience with us and let us know that your devices were finally able to pair. If you're having trouble with Notifications, please check the troubleshooting steps on my post

Additionally, if you're wearing a Blaze, Ionic or Versa, press down the button on the left for 2 seconds and swipe until you find "Notifications", make sure they're on.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, feel free to reply in case you need anything else.
