Fitbit Charge 2 Vibrates but Wont display call ID and texts

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just bought a Fitbit Charge 2 yesterday and the issue is the notifications.  It vibrates on calls and text messages but it doesn't display them until you hit the button on the tracker and then it displays the call or text info.  Is this the way it works because if so, then thats a total BS scam and the tracker will go back to the store.  The Charge HR at least just displays the call ID info(I know not text messages) but you don't have to jump through hoops to get it to work properly.  Thank you if anyone has any suggestions or if thats just the way it normally works.

Hello @Monte5150, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board.

When the Charge 2 receives Notifications, pressing the button will show you the information about the message/call/calendar notification. However, if you don't want to press the button, please enable Quick View, that way when you raise your wrist the notification will automatically show up.

To enable Quick View go to the Fitbit app > Account > Charge 2, then scroll down and enable Quick View.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink

Thank you for the reply but the Quickview was already turned on.  I guess I just gotta live with it, but unfortunately a "newer" fitbit model I always hope works better than an older model and in this case it does not.  Today I must have received 50 texts and not one of them showed up on the screen BUT I wasnt even getting the vibrations today that there was a text message and or call..  I'm disappointed to honest..

@Monte5150, I appreciate you have come back and let me know you're not getting Notifications. Tell me, is the tracker still vibrating when you receive Notifications or are you not receiving them at all? If that's the case I would like to suggest you to check if your Charge 2 is not currently in the Do Not Disturb mode by pressing down the button on the side for 2 seconds, a vibration and a message will let you know if Notifications have been turned ON of OFF. If they're on, my best recommendation would be resetting Notifications through the Fitbit app by following these steps:

- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap on tracker. Then tap on Forget this Device.

- Force-close the Fitbit app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swiping up the app.

- Open the app again and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications. You will receive the following Pop-up:

- Then, once you tap on Set Up, the app will begin setting up your tracker with the Bluetooth on your phone, which will prompt the next pop-up:

- Tap Pair

- Once you get back to the tracker options, tap on Notifications an enable the ones you'd like to receive.

Additionally, please go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and Settings > Notifications > Messages and check that the following is enabled:

  • Allow Notifications
  • Show on Lock Screen
  • Show in History

I hope this can be helpful, please remember that you will still need to turn your wrist with Quick View to check the Notifications reaching your tracker. Give these steps a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else.

This is helpful however I have “quick view” on and it still only buzzed when there’s a message (no display of sender or message)

UPDATE:

Oh it’s now working. Happy days Smiley Happy I just switched “quick view” off and then on again and it seems to be working
