The camera feature, used to scan barcodes on food items, is not working. I’ve given the app permission on my iPhone XR to use the camera and have used it many times before, but now when I try to scan a barcode the image is just pitch black. Otherwise, outside of the app, the camera works fine.

Thanks for the details shared in your post. I appreciate your efforts and understand your concern. I recommend trying the following:
- Log out from the Fitbit app.
- Force quit the Fitbit app.
- Clear your iPhone cache: How to Clear Your Browser's Cache on an iPhone.
- Reboot your phone.
- Open the Fitbit app and log back into your account.
