Sometimes, my fitbit app on my iPhone 8+ will say "No Internet connection" in a red banner across the top when it should be connected. Every other app on the phone that connects to my wi-fi network IS connected, yet fitbit says I need to connect to get historical data. This is maddening. So far, my workaround has been to reboot the phone, and then it will connect. I can also go to Settings, choose a different network, have it try to switch, then go back to my network and it connects. My wife's 8+ does not have the same problem, just mine. Anyone got any ideas?

Hello @joeb22, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board! ![]()
I appreciate you have brought this to my attention and for letting me know the workaround you've tried so far. At this moment I would like to ask you to go to your phone Settings > Fitbit and check that Background App Refresh is enabled. If it is, disable it, restart your phone and enable it back.
Now, if you get this message again, swipe up to bring out the Control Center, turn off WiFi for 10 seconds, then turn it back on and swipe down in the Fitbit app until the message disappears.
I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Happy stepping!
Best AnswerI have the same problem, and when I go to settings, Fitbit, Background App Refresh is enabled, but is grayed out and I can't disable it.
Thank you. That worked!
Best AnswerHaving similar problem, tried you suggestion. I swiped the screen down several times. Keeps saying “device no found”. App is
not connecting to my wireless network.
I have been having this same problem off and on for a couple of days, and now it seems to be permanent. I have tried restarting the phone, with and without Background App Refresh enabled. I have turned off WiFi and turned it on again (and anyway I should have cell connection even without WiFi). I have turned Airport Mode on and off. Nothing works.
Curiously, it seems to be getting my steps, but won't sync alarms. I need those.
Any ideas?
This has been happening to me for over an hour, across locations (at my gym and at home). I turned my phone all the way off and then back on, and I uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app. I haven’t been able to sign in since the reinstall. When I try, it says I need to be connected to internet to sign in.
Im Having the same issue!!!
Same problem. None of the suggestions worked (disabling and enabling background refresh, restarting phone, turning WIFI of and back on -- still get the No Internet Connection message when my iPhone XR clearly is connected to wifi and other apps work with the internet. Come on, Google!! You bought Fitbit. Fix this app!
Same issue... tried all the above... deleted app and reinstalled and now can’t log in because of the same no internet msg ... has to be an internal Fitbit system problem
Why isint this fixed already? This original post is from July 16 2018. Today I update my iOS app to the newest version & I had to shut down my WiFi just to sign into the app. I shouldn’t have to jump through hoops with an update just to get into the app again. Unacceptable
