Fitbit app is running out the battery on iPhone

Hi, I am using an IPhone with my fitbit Inspire - it works well but is running out the battery on my phone.

The only time I really need the app on is when I'm syncing in the morning after sleeping. How can I turn off the phone App - and turn it back on without removing the app from my phone?

Thanks!

Hi @sueinspire. It's great to have a new member around.

It's great that you have the Inspire linked to your account and thanks for the information provided. While there isn't a way to turn off the Fitbit app, you may want to check if the Background App Refresh is turned on for this app as this will affect the battery life:

  1. On your phone's settings tap on General.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Background App Refresh.
  3. Look for Fitbit and make sure it's off.
  4. Monitor your phone's behavior.

If this continues happening, please provide me with the following:

  • How much has your phone's battery drained.
  • How often do you charge your phone during the day?
  • Your phone's model and OS version.
  • The Fitbit app version which can be found in the App store.

I'll look forward to your reply.

Hi! Well, my fitbit app on my phone ( Iphone 6 iOS version 12.4.4) is
still using up my phone battery very quickly. Without the fitbit app, I
can charge it at most once a day (and I'm a realtor so I use GPS alot - my
phone GPS not the Fitbit GPS)). But with the fitibit app, it must be doing
something constantly because if I don't turn it off or charge it overnight
it is a 0 in the morning.

I do sometimes use the sleep feature to see my sleep patterns so my blood
pressure is turned on, but I would think I could just turn on the phone in
the morning and sync it and it would take the info from the fitbit (or does
it need the phone app to provide the graph etc). And I turn off the GPS
always on the fitbit and the blood pressure during the day.

Anyway, suggestions? - I have a Fitbit Inspire HR version 20001.63.5

Thank you!

Sue

Here is another thing to try, @sueinspire - Turn off All Day Sync (if it is on). You can just manually sync in the morning. To check if this feature is on or off, open the app on your iPhone. Then tap Account -> Inspire -> then scroll down to All Day Sync. Turn it off from there. You can also turn off Reminders To Move from that screen. That will also help your battery life. Finally,

  • Power your phone off ... wait a few minutes .... then power it back on.
  • Restart your Ionic as the final step to get everything in sync.

Please let us know if this helps.
