Fitbit Update: 8/15

Hey all!

This week we released the option to opt-in to use the new dashboard to everyone. At this time, everyone should have received the option to opt-in already. If you didn't opt-in, we will transition everyone into the new dashboard in the coming weeks.

A reminder, after you've opted into the new design you cannot revert and go back to the old one. Read more about the new interface we've designed here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Make sure you're also on the latest version of the Fitbit app.

Thanks for your patience while we completely released the new interface to everyone. We hope you're enjoying the improvements that have been made and appreciate all the feedback.

Fitbit Update: 8/6

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all your feedback on the new dashboard design. We're still in the process of releasing it to all of our users. If you don't see it yet, you will have it pushed to you in the coming weeks! This has been a slow process for the past few months to ensure a smooth rollout.

We're currently on app version 3.3, so please make sure as always that you have the latest version of the Fitbit app

Once we've released this new dashboard to everyone, we will announce it in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 6/17

Hi Fitbit Family,

We are still rolling out our updated Fitbit app design to more users currently with v.2.95. Please make sure to update the Fitbit app by visiting the App store if you haven't already. If you don't see the new dashboard just yet, you will be receiving it at some point in the coming weeks.

Thanks so much for your patience throughout this rollout. To read more about this new dashboard experience, please check this article out: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

Once this rollout is complete, we will let you all know in this thread.

Fitbit Update: 5/22

Hi everyone!

We’ve rolled out another phase of testing for the new app dashboard experience. If you’re one of the lucky people to see it before the full release, you can read more about it here: What’s the new Fitbit app experience?

We’ll continue to slowly release this to all Fitbit customers on iOS and Android. Once we receive more information on this, we’ll let you know.

Hope you’re all enjoying this new layout!

Fitbit Update: 4/24

Hi everyone!

Beginning today with app v2.92, we're excited to announce a new dashboard experience for the Fitbit app, currently by invitation only. If you are invited to opt-in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

You can read more about it in this help article: What's the new Fitbit app experience?

As with all our new dashboard updates, this is a progressive rollout. If you don't have an invitation or see the dashboard immediately, you will receive it later on.

We will update this thread with more information later, so stay tuned!

Hi! Is any chance that the old dashboard will come back? I reeeeeeally don't like the new one - looks very old fashioned and not inspiring. Thanks

I have 2.94/834 and I’m in the UK. The new dashboard works fine for me but it’s BORING to look at. They need to put the funky colours back in at least.

PLEASE get me out of this new, awful, bland and hard to read dashboard. Give the old, motivating and easy to read one.

HERE HERE! The new dashboard is HORRIFIC! Get rid of it, we didn't want it, nor need it - the old dashboard wasn't "broken" as you claim it was.

I had to start a new account due to so many issues within this new dashboard!! Funny enough same phone, same app and just logged out and back in with new account and old dashboard back 😃 I don’t have my friends but with the way my other account was I couldn’t join or start a challenge anyways .

What about all your cumulative data though?

Sadly I’m having to start again with it all cause it’s been 3 weeks and constant glitches with no support. I have had a blank screen, can’t set up challenges and so many glitches.

Oh my gosh @ShanJ  thank you - that worked!  And I stopped automatic app updates via my Apple ID in app store!

Sorry to burst a bubble but it seems as if the new design can be dropped in to the latest version of the app without it being updated from the App Store.

It it might hold off the inevitable for a while. Mine hasn’t changed over yet.

I certainly don’t want to lose historical data.

I’m also having a lot of problems with sync - I keep having to force kill the app and reopen to get it to sync with the watch.

I seem to have the new version which isn’t too bad but I preferred the plus button at the bottom of the screen so I could easily access the alarm as I change it quite often due to shift changes can I have it back please! It’s to much to go into top left account settings each time. Thanks

Me too. I know MFP are having sync issues too.

I didn't get a choice to opt-in/get invited, my app changed automatically and if I'm honest I don't like the update. The colours are dull and really uninspiring. When I reach my goal steps or whatever for the day it doesn't feel like an achievement due to the colour and how it shades in, the older version with its bright green felt more positive. The list view, to me, isn't an improvement. It's actually harder to see everything compared to the dual list in the older version.

How is it that everyone wants that last dashboard bs k wh"everyone" called that version of the dashboard "horrific* two years ago.

I bought my fitbit last December so I never saw the version two years ago. Maybe it was better.

I might have to do what you just did, start a new account to bring back the old version. I too hate the new dashboard so much, but we shouldn't have been forced to do this, Fitbit must take some notice of this forum, not a single positive comment on the update. If this is not solved soon, Fitbit may have lost about 6 loyal customers, me and my whole family are using Fitibit.

I wish I could go back to the old version of the app for my iphone. The home-screen (whatever you call that) is the issue for me. For one thing, I think it is disappointing and a big step down aesthetically. But I could learn to live with that. The real problem is that I'm a middle-aged dude who needs reading glasses. Since the app was updated, the stats are much smaller and I have a hard time reading them without having to search for my glasses every time. Please make a way to go back to previous home-screen.  Thanks.

Super frustrating, right?  Essentially the developer replied to everyone in the app store "too bad, so sad" you'll get used to it pretty much.  So, I bought a competitor product yesterday.  I'm wearing them side by side now, and because of the bad UI, I'm getting better accuracy on the competitor product.  When I do a fast walk with my friend at lunch, it shows I climbed 20 floors of stairs on Fitbit... not on the competitor product.  Somebody at Fitbit made a BIG boo boo..  they'll figure that out after long term revenue comes in at the executive level!

Best Answer

Sorry - what I was trying to say was that I walked a completely fast flat road and competitor tracked properly where Fitbit said I went up 20 flights of stairs. It’s been highly erratic and inaccurate (the Fitbit) since the update!
