I am in the US and service is still the same as it was earlier. You can get the app to open after trying a few times.  I hold the screen down and it will populate.  Take a few seconds to sync  up to current steps.

I've been in touch with fitbit and they asked me to be patient as they know about the issue and are trying to fix it.

Same. Deleted and reinstalled. It still closes immediately.

If you can get it open, then you are not having the same issue.  The problem under discussion is that when you open it, it immediately closes.  On my app, I tried to click on it numerous times (and it closed immediately most of those times) and then finally, it remained open so I could log back into the app (since I had deleted it, etc. like everyone else trying to fix the problem).  🙂

Same here - tried deleting & redos loading the app but anytime I open it immediately closes

Same problem here on iOS.  Tried rebooting the phone (iPhone11) and deleting and reinstalling the app.  My Android tablet app works fine so it's a Fitbit and/or Apple problem.

Two hours later:  sometimes is opens and stays open, other times it opens and closes immediately.  Usually the latter.

I’m getting really tired of Big Tech companies releasing updates that are riddled with bugs!  I mean, what is the point of releasing something that has not been tested.  When the latest Fitbit App update was released earlier this week, under the description of what the update was, it said bug fixes, stability improvements etc.  Really?  They have no problem taking your money when you purchase a device , but, if you can’t use or rely on the software that runs the device, what is the point of having it!  Totally frustrating and unacceptable IMO.

Not working for me either

Same here. Fitbit app and iPhone both updated to latest versions. Fitbit opens and immediately crashes. Problem started day after iPhone update Have done the following to no effect: restarted phone, offloaded and reinstalled app. Have not done a full app delete as  iPhone instructions state this will delete all data.

I thought I was back BUT its not true because the crashing is continuous and keeps repeating.

Worse, when we know there is a problem GOOGLE fails to inform us.  There should be acknowledgements on their website and information as to when they are fixing it!

If not their so called support is worthless.  It becomes just an exercise in frustration making fitbit a less desirable product.

r

I did that BUT it still crashes repeatedly,  They did not fix the issue and this is not a fix.

Have to say the product is less stable since Google took over.

I know now that I would never purchase a google phone nor security system

And since it is on their end THEY should have an obligation to, at the very least,  acknowledge the issue on their main website and offer some info as to  what they are doing about it and when!

I have done that repeatedly and no it is not a fix. Keeps happening.

SAME!  Hopefully they fix this soon!

My temporary solution:  Just keep tapping the Fitbit icon over and over again after it closes and it eventually stays open and is operable.
