New app update pushed out yesterday has broken the app for some iOS users (myself included).  From what I’ve read, Fitbit is aware and working on it.  No ETA on a resolution, that I can find.

Glad it is the system and we're all not alone! Hopefully will be back up soon.

That worked, but it’s an annoying kludge.

That didn’t help me any. 😕

Fitbit should take down post telling people to uninstall and reinstall.  Obviously the problem is with app itself - probably the server, because I can get my app to start if I put my iPhone 14 in airplane mode.  Why haven’t they informed entire community of this widespread problem? Why do they have people wasting time with uninstalling etc, when the problem is on their end?  Very poor service - last Fitbit I’ll buy

Mal2485, that fix only lasted for 5 minutes and it started crashing again! 😞 Sure hope someone comes up with a fix soon.

I am also having the same issue and have tried all suggestions with no resolution at the end of it 🤷🏽‍:female_sign:

Like many here, the app on iOS crashes immediately as it launches. The work-arounds listed here, seem to work, temporarily. Really am just posting in the hopes Fitbit/Google becomes overwhelmed with user complaints and is forced to create a fix/patch.

I got it to go on for long enough to sync, then it began crashing again. As I understand it has to do with a software update either the new iOS or a Fitbit app update that is coming across a bad command.

Having the same issue iPhone is update as wee as I believe the app. I have rebooted my phone, shut it off for over 10 minutes, deleted and reinstalled the app. It crashes while trying to open!

Just to add to this, my data actually synced even though the app is crashing, as I was able to login to my Fitbit account online (via the web/Safari ) and it was all there.

What can we do about the crashing? Who is going to fix it?

From this morning, the Fitbit app continually crashes on my iPhone running iOS version 16.3.1. Itw ill occasionally load after multiple attempts. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and it states I have the latest version. Anyone else experiencing this problem and is there a fix?

Best Answer

@Meeky  Same for me. The app flashes briefly and disappears. iOS 16.3.1.

Did all the tricks I could find:

BT off - shut off phone 15 mins - boot phone - BT on.  (that was actually an Android fix from in the past year or two)

Delete app. reboot, install and login to app.

Airplane mode on, log water, etc. ( Well this let's me see that there is no sync, and that the delete app has removed all my history. I guess when this is fixed that will all come back with a good synch online.)

My fitbit app will suddenly not open. It briefly shows the screen, but then it disappear again. I have done the following:

  • downloaded and installed a new version.
  • cleared all programs from memory
  • turned Bluetooth of and on

Any other suggestions - in beforehand thanks
