Fitbit app retroactively adjusting calories burned per day

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've been manually transcribing my calories burned per day from the FitBit app to a spreadsheet so I can track trends over time. Today when I went to update my spreadsheet, I noticed that none of the numbers from the FitBit app and my spreadsheet matched up - in fact, the numbers in the FitBit app appear to have all been adjusted to ~100 calories LESS than what they were previously reported to be. Why is this happening? Can I even trust the data storage at FitBit?

Hi There, Support pretty much sent me the same link that you did, which doesn't help answer my question at all. My question is not about how calories burned are calculated, but rather why already stored and catalogued data is all changing. For instance, if my calories burned for May 15 were initially calculated (and stored!) as 3,200 calories, why, when I look now, would it say differently, like 3,050 calories? I noticed all my historical data changed at some point in June.
