Fitbit device not syncing after adding Aria 2

Hi, I invited my partner to join our new Aria 2 - he has an older iPad that cannot be updated beyond Ios 10. After adding the Aria 2 I updated the guest weights that had got created to put them on his records. After that his fitbit would no longer sync from his iPad. I followed all the instructions to try and get it to sync again. One suggestion is to delete the fitbit app and reinstall. Hesitantly I tried this. Result when I go to app store I can no longer download the fitbit app - it tells me it is not compatible with the iPad device. So now having tried your new scale my partner is kicked out of what was working for his fitbit.

Now if he was a young man I would suggest he just gets a new iPad, but he is 83 years old. It has been such an adventure and a challenge getting him to use the fitbit that he was so proud of and that everyone here is so proud of him doing - keeping moving up to 8000 steps every day. Now he can no longer show his record to people on his iPad and influence other oldies to the benefits of this. And now he is back to told you so mode - that all this ´complex’ technology isn’t worth it. Is therea way I can get back to him being able to at least track his fitbit again on his ios 10 limited iPad even if he perhaps can’t add in the weight tracking other than manually as he did before?

Sorry not impressed at the moment - the is potential for a huge public service encouraging older people to move here - but they don’t all have the money to keep updating systems as some wage earners perhaps do!

Disappointed!

Joyce

Hi @JoyceBelgium, welcome to the Forums!

I'm glad to hear that you and your partner are part of our family. I understand how you're felling and I'm sorry that both of you've had this experience. Although the new Fitbit app version is available just for iOS 11, he should still be able to sync his device, and now the Aria 2 in his account with iOS 10. To investigate, please provide me with his iPad model, as well with a screen a screenshot of the error message displayed. For instructions to attach a picture, check this post. In the meantime, please try rebooting his iPad and downloading the Fitbit app from this link.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Yeah! Have now been able to reintall the fitbit app on my partner's older model iPad and can confirm that it is syncing again, and that this mornings weight has gone into the chart as well! Brilliant, thanks! It worked!
